Join our team at Methodist Fremont Health, where we're currently seeking dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioners in the Cardiac Unit for both part-time and full-time positions. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you'll play a vital role in assessing and treating patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. From neonates to adults, your expertise will ensure the delivery of clinically appropriate respiratory care procedures as prescribed by our medical staff. Demonstrates competency in all therapeutic modalities performed at Methodist Hospital. Completes high-risk/low-volume skill checklist satisfactorily and documents procedures in patient records. Develops, reviews, and revises plans of care as needed, based on patient assessments and physician orders. Regularly communicates with the patient care team to exchange information on patient condition and progress. Provides diagnostic procedures within the RCP's scope of practice for departments such as Heart Station and Pulmonology, including ABGs for the lab. Works within Protocol Guidelines to ensure all patients receive appropriate therapy. Educates nursing and ancillary staff regarding Respiratory Care procedures to improve interdepartmental relations. Job Requirements

Associate's of Science Degree with certificate in Respiratory Care required. Bachelor's of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care preferred. 3-6 months of on-the-job experience to gain knowledge of hospital policies, procedures and routines required. Registered respiratory therapist (RRT) with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 18 months of accepting the position required. Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP.NE or RCP.IA) license for work state required. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required. Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification preferred for MFH Cardiac Unit and MFH Cardiopulmonary Rehab.
