Make-up Exams

The make-up exam is intended for students who are absent on test days due to illness, emergency, or other event. The Testing Center offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and a flexible schedule for meeting both instructors’ and students’ needs. Testing staff will be responsible for maintaining security of exam materials, carefully checking photo ID of students, and administering exams according to specific guidelines set by each instructor.


Photo identification is required for all testing. Acceptable forms of photo identification include:

  • Current college student ID
  • Current driver’s license
  • State approved ID
  • Current state of federal ID card
  • Current passport of passport card
  • Tribal ID card
  • Naturalization card


Call the Testing Center at 402-844-7281; email testing@northeast.edu; or stop by the Testing Center in the College Welcome Center Room 1252 or Room 1256 to schedule a date and time to test.

Provide the Testing Center with the following Information when scheduling a testing appointment:

  • Instructor's Name
  • Course name
  • Format-paper/pencil or computer based
  • Length of time

Testing Center Guidelines:

  • Schedule an appointment for the exam. (Space is limited)
  • Current driver’s license
  • All exams must be completed in one sitting.
  • Tester Must:
    • Complete a sign-in-sheet
    • Present a current photo ID
    • Know the name of the instructor, and the course
  • All personal items will be securely stored
    • All cell phones, pagers, and any other electronic devices will be turned off and stored
    • All hats, caps, scarves, and coats will be removed and stored
    • All watches, jewelry more than ¼ inch
  • May not leave the Testing Center without permission of the Testing Staff once testing has begun
  • Food (including gum) and drink are not permitted in the Testing Center and/or testing rooms unless otherwise permitted
  • Student may not access his/her personal belongings without permission once testing has begun
  • If a break is permitted during testing, the student may not access his/her cell phone or any other electronic devices
  • No children allowed in the testing center

Information for Faculty:

Faculty completes a “Request for Instructor’s Test” form for the student(s).

Please include the following information when requesting a test to be administered in the Testing Center:

  • The Student's name
  • The actual length of time for the test
  • the day(s) the tests can be administered
  • Requirements needed to complete the test
  • Any special instructions for the test
  • Username and password for online testing
  • Remember to extend the time limit for students with the extended accommodations
  • Please specify browser: IE, Firefox, or Chrome
  • The “Request for Instructor’s Test” form can be emailed to testing@northeast.edu or dropped off at the Testing Center during the Testing Center’s hours of operation, or placed in Kathy Schwartzer’s mailbox in the Maclay’s mailroom
