Services and Programs

  • Short-term, confidential individual counseling for all Northeast students enrolled in six credit hours or more.
    • Individual counseling consists of meeting one-on-one with a counselor for 45 to 50 minutes during office hours, 8 am to 5 pmMonday - Friday
    • Individual counseling is short-term, meaning that the goal is to help you in the shortest time possible. If long- term counseling is needed, the counselor will help you find an appropriate professional or agency outside of Northeast.
  • Support groups on diverse concerns. Group topics and meeting times are determined by student interest. Groups consist of 5-10 members with 1-2 counselors leading the group.   • Educational programs to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Referrals to appropriate professionals and agencies for long-term therapy, specialized therapy, and medication.
  • Referrals for emergency and inpatient mental health services.
  • Resource library of educational information and videos.
  • Alcohol and Substance abuse education, risk assessment, and mandatory discipline sessions.
  • Consult with faculty, staff, and others concerned about a student of concern
  • Provide community referrals
