  • Johnsons' Design to be Featured During Norfolk's 150th

    by jamesc  6/1/2015 3:34:00 PM --  NORFOLK – A logo that will be used to mark the City of Norfolk’s sesquicentennial has been designed by an artist who works at Northeast Community College. The design of Jeanette Johnson, Northeast publications coordinator, will be incorporated into everything surrounding the community’s 150th anniversary in 2016.

  • Northeast Student Places at Truck Driving Championships

    by jamesc  6/1/2015 8:48:47 AM --  OMAHA - Students from across the region took home honors in the ninth annual CDL Truck Driving Championship held recently at Metropolitan Community College’s Applied Technology Center here. The CDL Student Truck Driving Championship challenged truck driving students to demonstrate driving and vehicle inspection skills with various driving maneuvers. Thomas Dow, Norfolk, a student in Northeast Community College’s truck driving program, took third place in the driving competition.

  • Six to Retire from Northeast

That is the amount of time Wayne Erickson, Jim Gross, Jim Marten, John Miller, Shirley Powers and Louise Torkelson have given to the institution. But those years of service are coming to an end as the four men and two women will retire at the end of the academic term.

  • 42nd Commencement Ceremony Held at Northeast

He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, from being a member of the David City Teammates chapter to serving Meals on Wheels. These are the types of commitments that defined the sheriff of Butler County right up until his untimely death last summer, said friend Doug Dekker.

  • Another Cardinal to Play Volleyball at Northeast

Bridget Schneider joins teammate Mackenzie Wecker in playing for the Hawks next season. She becomes the seventh recruit to sign with Northeast.

  • Graphic Design Students Present Work at Portfolio Show

    by jamesc  5/15/2015 2:53:33 PM --  NORFOLK – Several students in Northeast Community College’s graphic design program had the opportunity recently to show off their talents to family, friends and others. “The Portfolio Show is a showcase for the AAS (Associate of Applied Science) Graphic Design students’ cumulative work over their career here at Northeast,” said Phil Schimonitz, instructor. “The show is the beginning steps in the students’ job search and the interview process in the field of graphic design.” .

  • Severson Honored by Phi Theta Kappa

    by jamesc  5/15/2015 7:08:34 AM --  SAN ANTONIO, TX – The vice president of student services at Northeast Community College has been recognized for her work with an international honor society that is committed to academic excellence. Dr. Karen Severson was one of twenty-three college administrators from across the nation presented with the 2015 Distinguished College Administrator Award by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) at the organization’s 97th Annual Convention here. She was nominated by Northeast’s PTK Tau Chi chapter.
