  • Northeast dedicates new regional office

    by jamesc  10/29/2015 1:27:56 PM --  AINSWORTH - Earlier this year, Dr. Michael Chipps, president of Northeast Community College, met with citizens of Keya Paha, Brown and Rock counties after they expressed a desire that the College provide additional services in the far western portion of its service area. At the meeting, Chipps announced that the College would open a regional office in Ainsworth to serve the three counties. On Monday, the president was joined by local officials and others to dedicate the office located in an Educational Service Unit (ESU) #17 building here.

  • Davies earns national honor from ACCT

Davies, a member of the Northeast Community College Board of Governors, has been recognized nationally for his work in higher education. Davies, of Pilger, is one of five people to be named a finalist for the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) 2015 M. Dale Ensign Trustee Leadership Award. Davies, the Western Region finalist, joined trustees from community colleges in California, New Jersey, North Carolina and Ohio, during an awards ceremony held recently here.

  • Northeast dedicates new Applied Technology building

    by jamesc  10/9/2015 10:17:52 AM --  NORFOLK – Nearly two years to the day after ground was broken, officials of Northeast Community College dedicated the institution’s newest educational facility. Students actually began classes in the $9.1 million Applied Technology building on the Norfolk campus in August, but the College Board of Governors, administrators, faculty, staff and guests christened the 67,000 square foot structure during a dedication ceremony and open house Thursday afternoon.

  • Northeast receives scholarships funds from Wells Fargo/NPPD

    by jamesc  10/9/2015 10:15:21 AM --  NORFOLK – A check for $15,600 has been presented to Northeast Community College to be used for scholarships.Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president, and Gene Willers, Northeast board of governors chairperson, accepted the check from Cathy Kathol, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) retail programs coordinator, and Kurt Dostal, business relationship manager for Wells Fargo Bank, at the regular monthly meeting of the Northeast Board of Governors here Thursday.

  • Northeast budget tax levy is reduced again

    by jamesc  9/8/2015 9:33:22 PM --  O’NEILL – The Northeast Community College Board of Governors has given unanimous approval to the College’s 2015-16 budgets, which includes a decrease of 3.69 percent in the property tax levy. The action took place Tuesday following public hearings during the board’s monthly meeting in O’Neill.

  • Classrooms to be named for NAHB, Black Hills Energy

    by jamesc  8/13/2015 11:36:27 AM --  NORFOLK – Two classrooms in Northeast Community College’s new Applied Technology building will bear the names of corporations that have provided equipment and support to the College.The Northeast Board of Governors has approved naming the classroom for the building construction program after the Norfolk Area Homebuilders Association, while the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) classroom will feature the name of Black Hills Energy.

  • Black Hills Energy Contributes $50,000 to Northeast

    by jamesc  4/9/2015 12:45:07 PM --  NORFOLK – Northeast Community College is the recipient of a significant donation by the corporation that provides natural gas to much of the College’s 20-county-service area. Representatives of Black Hills Energy have presented College officials with a $50,000 gift to be used to purchase equipment in Northeast’s new Applied Technology building. The presentation took place Thursday during a news conference prior to the regular monthly meeting of the Northeast Board of Governors.

  • 99% of Northeast Graduates Find Work or Continue Their Education
