Before choosing a school I did my research. All that the Northeast Truck Driving Training Program offered seemed to be above and beyond that of the other schools.
The instructors, Ed Lewis and Ryan Cook, not only train you to pass a test, but they also train you to fit into the industry. They trained us on all different speed transmissions, hood styles, trailer styles, and different length trailers. They also trained us to trip plan and how to do a logbook.
The interstate travel was also a big plus. The grade training, which is where we learned to properly jake and stab brake and four cone serpentine, was also a major plus. The serpentine teaches trailer control and helps with over steering. To put in perspective, I am a rookie and already the top driver in my fleet. I get put on the hot loads, high dollar loads, and oversize loads thanks in large part to the training that I received from Ed and Ryan. Their goal is to see students succeed, not just get their CDL.
