NORFOLK – Northeast Community College offices in Norfolk, its extended campuses in O’Neill, West Point, and South Sioux City will be closed Friday, April 18 and remain closed on Monday, April 21 for Spring Break.

NORFOLK – Two Norfolk men with longtime ties to Northeast Community College have been recognized for their civic contributions. Dr. Robert Cox, former president, and J. Paul McIntosh, former member of the Board of Governors, were recognized at this week’s annual banquet of the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce. Both men currently serve on the Northeast Community College Foundation Board.

NORFOLK – As part of the upcoming National Volunteer Week (April 6-12), the Northeast Community College Foundation is paying tribute to its board of directors, which consists of community members in the College’s 20 county service area. Members represent varied backgrounds, bringing strength and diversification to the Foundation.
Three of the members have strong ties to the South Sioux City area where Northeast has a presence in the College Center. Douglas Garwood, Antonio (Tony) Gomez, and Arlan Kuehn, are all well-known and have strong ties to Dakota County.

NORFOLK - A special ceremony was held recently on the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College to welcome the newest members into its international honor society. Students were installed into Northeast’s Phi Theta Kappa, (PTK), Tau Chi chapter during the spring 2014 induction ceremony held in the Lifelong Learning Center.

NORFOLK - The numbers are in and continue to show that large numbers of Northeast Community College students choose to find employment in Nebraska after graduation. Terri Heggemeyer, director of career services at Northeast, presented the 2013 Graduate Employment Report to the Northeast Board of Governors Thursday at its regular monthly meeting. The report shows that 97 percent of 2013 Northeast graduates either found jobs or continued their education. Of the graduates who found employment following graduation, 83 percent of them gained employment in their field of study.
