Everything for Online Teaching at NECC

Get ready for online teaching through taking these two free online training courses:
-Northeast Online Instructor Training (1 credit online) is required before you move your teaching online.
-Essentials of Effective online Teaching (2 credit online) is encouraged if you'd like to get yourself more confident in online environment. Please check with your division Dean for the incentives for the completion of this course.

The Procedures of Moving your Teaching Online
Preparation:
1. The course approved by the Division Dean
2. Complete online instructor training
3. Work with the Director of online instruction for the course design related guidelines and information, contact "qing@northeast.edu" or 844-7134
4. Upload course contents with or without help (you may adopt an e-pack)
Contact with your students
1. After receiving the online student roster, add students to your course. Assistance is available upon request
2. Send welcome letter to students through email including students login information (Welcome letter template)
At the end of the semester
1. Back up your course and save a copy at your local computer (don't unzip the file to your local computer). Ask assistance if you are not sure how to do it.
2. Use the course evaluation feedback to revise and improve your course for the next semester

For Experienced Online Instructors
If you already taught online and you'd like to improve the effectiveness of your online courses in general, such as: revise certain component, find out the possibility of using technology to enhance your teaching and course interactions or the rubrics for course design..., please contact the director of online instruction for one-on-one consultation
