NATIONAL HARBOR, MD - “Nerd” was the word for a group of Northeast Community College students who attended an international convention held here recently. Six members of Northeast’s Tau Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa attended Nerd Nation, the organization’s annual convention, held this year at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

SAN DIEGO, CA – John W. Davies, a member of the Northeast Community College Board of Governors, has been recognized nationally for his work in higher education. Davies, of Pilger, is one of five people to be named a finalist for the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) 2015 M. Dale Ensign Trustee Leadership Award. Davies, the Western Region finalist, joined trustees from community colleges in California, New Jersey, North Carolina and Ohio, during an awards ceremony held recently here.

NORFOLK – She knew she was running out time, but Leann Skokan plowed ahead and went for the record in Northeast Community College’s bridge building competition recently. Unfortunately, it took less than a second for gravity to destroy the project it took her hours to construct.

(NORFOLK, Neb.) – Northeast Community College students Jared Sporleder, Pierce, and Lisa Sanders, Norfolk, were honored this week at the Phi Theta Kappa All-Nebraska Academic Team Recognition Day ceremonies in the Warner Legislative Chamber of the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln.
