  • Northeast Student-Athletes Earn All Academic Honors

    by jamesc  6/18/2015 4:13:06 PM --  NORFOLK – Several members of Northeast Community College’s basketball and volleyball teams have earned post season academic honors. The twenty-two student-athletes have been named to the Spring 2015 National Junior College Athletic Association Region XI Academic All-Region Teams. Northeast is a member of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

  • Cornett Leads Northeast Archery Team at Nationals

    by jamesc  6/10/2015 3:20:50 PM --  NEWBERRY, FL – Steve Cornett led the Northeast Community College archery team with several top ten finishes at the 2015 Intercollegiate Archery Championships at the Easton Newberry Center here recently. The national championships attracted teams from several major universities, including Stanford and Michigan State, as well as state, community and technical colleges from across the country.

  • Johnsons' Design to be Featured During Norfolk's 150th

    by jamesc  6/1/2015 3:34:00 PM --  NORFOLK – A logo that will be used to mark the City of Norfolk’s sesquicentennial has been designed by an artist who works at Northeast Community College. The design of Jeanette Johnson, Northeast publications coordinator, will be incorporated into everything surrounding the community’s 150th anniversary in 2016.

  • Northeast Student Places at Truck Driving Championships

    by jamesc  6/1/2015 8:48:47 AM --  OMAHA - Students from across the region took home honors in the ninth annual CDL Truck Driving Championship held recently at Metropolitan Community College’s Applied Technology Center here. The CDL Student Truck Driving Championship challenged truck driving students to demonstrate driving and vehicle inspection skills with various driving maneuvers. Thomas Dow, Norfolk, a student in Northeast Community College’s truck driving program, took third place in the driving competition.

  • 42nd Commencement Ceremony Held at Northeast

  • Northeast Alum's Name Added to Law Enforcement Memorials

He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, from being a member of the David City Teammates chapter to serving Meals on Wheels. These are the types of commitments that defined the sheriff of Butler County right up until his untimely death last summer, said friend Doug Dekker.

  • Severson Honored by Phi Theta Kappa

    by jamesc  5/15/2015 7:08:34 AM --  SAN ANTONIO, TX – The vice president of student services at Northeast Community College has been recognized for her work with an international honor society that is committed to academic excellence. Dr. Karen Severson was one of twenty-three college administrators from across the nation presented with the 2015 Distinguished College Administrator Award by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) at the organization’s 97th Annual Convention here. She was nominated by Northeast’s PTK Tau Chi chapter.

  • Northeast HVAC Student Headed to SkillsUSA Championship

  • 42nd Commencement to be Held at Northeast

    by jamesc  5/8/2015 3:08:41 PM --  NORFOLK – The 42nd Commencement of Northeast Community College will take place on Saturday, May 16, at 10 a.m. in the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. As of Wednesday, May 6, some 871 students, including those earning double majors, and 214 who completed their studies this past December, were to be listed in the commencement program.

  • Northeast PBL Students Earn Honors

    by jamesc  5/8/2015 3:05:18 PM --  NORFOLK – Several members of the Northeast Community College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Club earned honors at the organization’s Nebraska Leadership Conference and Business Competition held recently in Kearney. The team competed against many four-year schools including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Nebraska-Omaha, Midland University, Chadron State College, Peru State College, and Doane College. Other two-year colleges at the conference, included McCook Community College, North Platte Community College, and Southeast Community College.
