  • Northeast is among Top 150 community colleges in the United States

    by jamesc  1/26/2016 11:26:31 AM --  Washington, DC – Highlighting the critical importance of improving student success in America’s community colleges, the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program today named Northeast Community College as one of the nation’s top 150 community colleges eligible to compete for the 2017 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and $1 million dollars in prize funds, as well as Siemens Technical Scholars Program student scholarships.

Sophomore Kevin Metoyer, Omaha, has been named the Men’s Division I Player of the Week by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference

  • Former Hawk Moneke to attend NCAA Leadership Forum

    by jamesc  1/8/2016 8:59:14 AM --  DAVIS, CA – A former student-athlete at Northeast Community College will join a select group of Division I, II and III student-athletes as a Big West Conference representative at the NCAA’s annual Leadership Forum this spring. Chima Moneke, Canberra, Australia, is presently a junior at the University of California-Davis.

  • Northeast grads earn honors at SuperTech competition

  • Northeast HVAC instructors earn top educator credentials

    by jamesc  12/11/2015 8:19:43 AM --  NORFOLK- Two Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) instructors at Northeast Community College have earned top educator credentials from a national industry organization. Paul Bailey and John Nelson successfully completed a series of exams to earn Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE) credentials from HVAC Excellence, a non-profit organization serving the HVACR industry.

  • Kitantou named ICCAC Player of the Week

Maeva Kitantou, a 5’ 8” freshman guard, has been named Player of the Week by the ICCAC for the week of November 30-December 6.

  • Grant named 2015 AG-ceptional Woman

Karen Grant was honored as the AG-ceptional Woman of the Year at the Seventh Annual AG-ceptional Women’s Conference on Friday at the Lifelong Learning Center at Northeast Community College here.

  • Northeast South Sioux City Soccer Club recognized

    by jamesc  11/11/2015 3:33:20 PM --  SOUTH SIOUX CITY – Members of the Northeast Community College club soccer team in South Sioux City have been recognized for their character of play. The team was awarded the South Sioux City Adult League Sportsmanship Trophy during an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the season. The trophy is awarded to a team based on votes by the leagues’ referees and organization officers.

  • Northeast recognized for its outstanding landscaping

    by jamesc  10/22/2015 9:09:01 AM --  NORFOLK – The hundreds of people who come on to the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College on a daily basis already know just how beautiful the grounds really are. Now the College is being recognized for its efforts. Northeast Community College was presented with the Green Leaf Award for outstanding landscaping efforts at a recent meeting of the Norfolk City Council. The award is sponsored by the city’s Tree Advisory Board.

  • Davies earns national honor from ACCT

Davies, a member of the Northeast Community College Board of Governors, has been recognized nationally for his work in higher education. Davies, of Pilger, is one of five people to be named a finalist for the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) 2015 M. Dale Ensign Trustee Leadership Award. Davies, the Western Region finalist, joined trustees from community colleges in California, New Jersey, North Carolina and Ohio, during an awards ceremony held recently here.
