  • 2,000 Students Take Part in 33rd Northeast Jazz Festival

    by jamesc  3/30/2015 11:44:11 AM --  NORFOLK – Middle and high school student musicians competed recently for top honors at the 33rd annual Northeast Jazz Festival in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast Community College campus in Norfolk. The two-day event drew 80 musical groups from Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and South Dakota with over 2000 students performing. The competition hosted jazz bands and show/jazz choirs for school in four levels. Twenty trophies were presented at the end of each competition day for first, second, third, and fourth place and solo and instrumental awards.

  • Woodhead Named Northeast Softball Coach

    by jamesc  3/17/2015 4:41:44 PM --  NORFOLK – Northeast Community College has named Iris Woodhead as its new women’s softball coach. Woodhead is currently assistant women’s softball and assistant women’s basketball coach at McCook Community College.

  • Northeast Offers Reverse Transfer Opportunities

  • Northeast Employees Answer Phones for a Good Cause

  • Digital Cinema Program Debuts Video Project

Students and faculty in the College’s digital cinema program debuted their first collaborative project with an off-campus, non-profit entity – an orientation video shot on behalf of the Elkhorn Valley Museum and Research Center here.

  • Norfolk Ford Dealership Donates car to Northeast Programs

    by jamesc  12/23/2014 7:47:06 AM --  NORFOLK – The Ford dealership in Norfolk has donated a vehicle to Northeast Community College for student learning purposes. Courtesy Ford-Lincoln has donated the 2009 program car to be used in two College programs.

  • Roeber Receives Beef Industry Endowment Grant

    by jamesc  12/19/2014 8:30:15 AM --  NORFOLK – A member of the Northeast Community College faculty has received funding from a statewide organization to be used for educational research, continuing education or conferences. Mike Roeber, agriculture instructor/livestock judging coach, is one of three educators in the state to receive grants from the Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation’s Beef Industry Endowment. Roeber, a native of Ashland, will receive $2,500 to be used toward continuing education initiatives.

  • Northeast Honors Employees with US Bank Awards

  • Former Car Club Donates $12,000 to Northeast

    by jamesc  12/11/2014 5:48:39 PM --  NORFOLK – A former area classic car club has made a financial contribution to Northeast Community College. Members of Hot Summer Nites (HSN) presented a check for $12,000 to Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president, and John W. Davies, chair of the College Board of Governors, at the board’s monthly meeting here Thursday.

  • PTA Student Assessment

The assessment was part of an assignment by PTA students to assess someone as they sit at their desk.

  • Vet Tech Students Visit Humane Society
