  • Bradley is NJCAA Player of the Week

    by jamesc  1/29/2015 8:40:37 AM --  NORFOLK - A member of the Northeast Community College men's basketball team has been named Division I Player of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Jalen Bradley, a 6' 1" guard from Norfolk, averaged 32.5 points for the Hawks during the week of January 19-25. For the season he is averaging 18.4 points per game. He earned the honor after stellar performances over the past week, including a win over a nationally ranked team.

  • Hawks' Women Hold Midland to Seven Second Half Point

    by jamesc  1/28/2015 9:19:59 AM --  NORFOLK - Yasmin Miller had 15 points and 13 rebounds in leading the Northeast Community College's women's basketball team to a 62-33 win over the Midland University JV here Tuesday. Janea Bunn finished with 13 points, nine blocked shots and eight rebounds.

  • Chipps Testifies Against Property Tax Legislation

    by jamesc  1/26/2015 5:51:08 PM --  LINCOLN – The president of Northeast Community College told Nebraska lawmakers Monday that a legislative bill designed to lower a property tax levy lid would be detrimental to the work of the state’s community colleges. “Lowering property taxes and correspondingly lowering the ability to fund Nebraska community colleges, as proposed in LB 144, would be devastating to one of the state's primary economic development systems, which I believe is just the opposite effect that our great state wishes to create,” said Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president.

  • Diesel Technology Career Fair

    by jamesc  1/26/2015 2:09:33 PM --  Brooks Rash, north regional maintenance manager for Arrow Stages Lines, visits with Dustin Rodekohr, of Norfolk, a first-year diesel technology student at Northeast Community College. Rash was one of several employers who spoke with diesel technology students during the program’s inaugural Career Fair, held recently in the Diesel Technology building on the College’s Norfolk campus.

  • Students Graduate in December from Northeast
