  • Northeast Business Students Honored at the State Capitol

    by jamesc  11/20/2014 8:08:39 AM --  LINCOLN – Two Northeast Community College business students were honored this week in Lincoln for recognition of their placement at a national conference this summer. Beth Ebmeier, Laurel, and Jenna McCleary, Battle Creek, were honored at the Nebraska State Board of Education’s “Commissioners Recognition of Student Excellence in Career Education” program in the state capitol rotunda. McCleary was unable to attend the event.

  • Northeast Signs MOU with Concordia University

    by jamesc  11/19/2014 4:20:46 PM --  SEWARD, NE - Students will soon have the opportunity to benefit from a new partnership between Concordia University, Nebraska and Northeast Community College. The presidents of the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Tuesday on Concordia’s campus here to solidify financial and educational commitments of their new partnership, effective immediately.

  • Northeast to Close for Thanksgiving Break

  • Hawks Men's basketball Team Defeats Little Priest

    by jamesc  11/18/2014 7:08:30 AM --  NORFOLK – After trailing 4-3 in the first two minutes of the game, the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team went on a 12-4 run and never looked back as it defeated Little Priest Tribal College, 108-86. The Hawks improve to 5-0.

  • Northeast Receives Scholarship Dollars

    by jamesc  11/14/2014 10:36:19 AM --  NORFOLK – A check for $15,600 has been presented to Northeast Community College to be used for scholarships. Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president, and John W. Davies, Northeast board of governors chairperson, accepted the check from Cathy Kathol, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) retail programs coordinator, and Kurt Dostal, business relationship manager for Wells Fargo Bank, at the regular monthly meeting of the Northeast Board of Governors Thursday here.

  • Northeast Women's Basketball Team Cruises to Victory Over Iowa Lakes

  • Hawks Get By Iowa Central 78-77

    by jamesc  11/10/2014 8:29:25 AM --  NORFOLK – Trailing by one point with 3.8 seconds remaining in the game, Jalen Bradley hit two clutch free throws to put Northeast Community College ahead over Iowa Central Community College in an opening round game in the Hawks Classic Friday here. The Tritons were unable to get off a shot and the Hawks were able to hold on for the win to improve to 3-0 on the young season.

  • Hawks Women's Basketball Team Improves to 3-0

    by jamesc  11/10/2014 8:27:39 AM --  NORFOLK – Megan Trinder and Janea Bunn had 13 points each to lead the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team to an 81-44 win over Des Moines Area Community College Friday here in an opening round game at the Hawks Classic.

He was one of several Northeast agriculture students in Ag Instructor Chris Burbach’s class to demo the Lexion combine on loan to the College by Nebraska Harvest Center in Wayne.

  • Chipps Highlights Veterans' Services at Northeast

    by jamesc  11/7/2014 2:50:10 PM --  NORFOLK – Dr. Michael Chipps, president of Northeast Community College, has a filmed a video geared to military veteran students who attend the college. “I’m here to really celebrate with you veterans, as far as not only for your service, but to be able to attend Northeast Community College,” Chipps said in the opening. The video was shot by students in Brian Anderson’s broadcasting program in front of the College’s Welcome Center.

  • Scholarship Recipients Announced
