  • Roeber Receives Beef Industry Endowment Grant

    by jamesc  12/19/2014 8:30:15 AM --  NORFOLK – A member of the Northeast Community College faculty has received funding from a statewide organization to be used for educational research, continuing education or conferences. Mike Roeber, agriculture instructor/livestock judging coach, is one of three educators in the state to receive grants from the Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation’s Beef Industry Endowment. Roeber, a native of Ashland, will receive $2,500 to be used toward continuing education initiatives.

  • Northeast to Add Two Intercollegiate Sports in 2015

    by jamesc  12/17/2014 4:45:55 PM --  NORFOLK - Buoyed by the success of its athletic programs, administrators at Northeast Community College have announced that the Norfolk-based institution will add two new athletic programs to its growing roster of sports. Women's softball and men's soccer will begin at the College in Fall 2015.

  • Nebraska Farm Bureau Honored at Northeast Ag Conference

    by jamesc  12/15/2014 11:06:14 AM --  NORFOLK – Nebraska’s largest, voluntary agricultural organization, lobbying on behalf of farmers and farming communities, was recognized at the recent AG-ceptional Women’s Conference at Northeast Community College here. The Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation was presented with the Conference’s Award of Merit at the College’s Lifelong Learning Center. Deanna Karmazin, executive director of the Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Foundation, accepted the award.

  • Hawks Women's Basketball Team Defeats Cloud County

    by jamesc  12/12/2014 7:21:34 AM --  NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team is now 13-2 after an 81-68 win over Cloud County Community College of Kansas here Thursday. Janea Bunn led the Hawks with 15 points,14 points and nine blocks. Megan Trinder also finished with 15 points. Other scorers include Yasmin Miller with 13 points and Ena Viso and Jayla Mayes-Jackson with ten points each.

  • Former Car Club Donates $12,000 to Northeast

Members of Hot Summer Nites (HSN) presented a check for $12,000 to Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president, and John W. Davies, chair of the College Board of Governors, at the board’s monthly meeting here Thursday.

The assessment was part of an assignment by PTA students to assess someone as they sit at their desk.

  • Northeast Speech Team Picks Up More Wins

The event was hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Concordia University in Seward.

  • Northeast Signs Volleyball Recruits from Stanton

    by jamesc  12/5/2014 11:49:19 AM --  NORFOLK – Two athletes from the same school have signed to play volleyball at Northeast Community College beginning in the 2015-16 season. Amanda Schultze, Hawks coach, has signed Rachel Brandl and Kelsey Shoemaker, both members of the Stanton High School volleyball team.
