  • Longtime Northeast supporter establishes new endowed scholarship

Renee Halsey, Norfolk, has created the R.E.N.E.E. H.A.L.S.E.Y. Scholarship, which stands for Rain Enhanced Nature Environmentally Enriching Horticulture through Attractive Landscaping Simply by Educating Youth.

  • Risinger Green joins Northeast

She joins the College after more than 27 years at WJAG, Lite Rock 97.5 and 106KIX Radio in Norfolk, where she served as assistant news director and farm director.

  • Northeast hosts basketball camps

    by amandab  6/22/2016 8:06:51 AM --  Matt Svehla, women’s basketball coach at Northeast Community College, leads a shooting drill during Northeast’s annual Basketball Camp this week on the Norfolk campus. Boys and girls in grades 3-12 took part in skills and position and shooting camps, and a four-on-four league over the past two weeks.

He received the award during the Department of Education's 2016 Nebraska Career Education (NCE) Conference here. More than 600 Nebraska Career Education teachers, school counselors and administrators attended the conference.

  • Northeast earns safety award

The College received an Award of Merit as part of the 2016 Nebraska’s Safest Companies and Community Safety Awards. Now in its 29th year, the awards recognized over 90 Nebraska organizations with outstanding accomplishments in safety records and programs.

  • Northeast student awarded scholarship to study abroad

Krisayla Rasmussen, Norfolk, has received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

  • Northeast instructor becomes Certified Loss Control Professional

Kory Hildebrand, job training and safety instructor at Northeast, has met the requirements to become a Certified Loss Control Professional.

  • Northeast student graduates high school and college in same month

While most students reach these milestones one-by-one over the course of many years, Axel Gonzalez has achieved them all at once. Gonzalez, Sioux City, IA, graduated from Northeast Community College on May 14 with an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration. Eight days later, he graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City.

  • Northeast's Helena Acre partnership kicks off planting season

After several rain delays, a team consisting of Helena representatives and Northeast Agriculture faculty and administrators were eager to begin work on the 40A field at Northeast’s College Farm as part of the Helena Acre partnership.
