  • Northeast Hosts Inaugural Ag Career Fair

    by jamesc  10/17/2014 4:23:56 PM --  Courtesy The Viewpoint NORFOLK - Agriculture cooperatives hoping to get a jump on summer intern hiring set up booths Thursday in Northeast Community College’s Lifelong Learning Center for an Ag Career Fair. They spoke with interested Northeast students who ordinarily might not start to look for internships until spring. Dr. Burton Pflueger, Northeast agriculture instructor, who planned the event, said introducing students to potential employers this early in the year benefits everyone.

  • Northeast Speech Teams Ropes More Wins

  • Northeast Auto Body Students Travel to England

    by jamesc  10/17/2014 12:17:58 PM --  NORFOLK – Five members of the Northeast Community College auto body program and their instructor are in the United Kingdom - the second group from the College to travel there in the past year. Instructor Dave Beaudette and his students flew from Omaha to Manchester, England, earlier this week for a ten visit to nearby North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe, England.

  • Hawks Fall to North Platte CC

    by jamesc  10/17/2014 11:44:07 AM --  NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College volleyball team dropped a hard fought, four set match to North Platte Community College here Tuesday night. The scores were 25-19, 19-25, 23-25, 25-16. The Hawks are now 14-13.

  • Northeast Spook-tacular is October 29

    by jamesc  10/17/2014 11:28:55 AM --  NORFOLK – Area children are sure to have a hauntingly good time when several Northeast Community College student organizations host their 12th Annual Spook-tacular this year. All ghosts and goblins are invited to the Northeast Community College Spook-tacular Children’s Carnival on Wednesday, October 29, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Northeast’s Chuck M. Pohlman Agriculture Complex, located one mile east of campus at the intersection of Highway 35 and Benjamin Avenue. Last year, over 1,400 people attended the event.

  • Northeast Hosts Nebraska Intercollegiate Golf Tourney

    by jamesc  10/13/2014 8:44:47 AM --  NORFOLK – Hastings College won the Nebraska Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at the Norfolk Country Club. Northeast Community College hosted the two-day event on Friday and Saturday. The Broncos shot a 15 over 591 to top the field followed by Bellevue University, four shots back. Northeast had two teams in the tournament with each shooting 632 to tie for ninth.

  • Tough Weekend for Northeast Volleyball Squad

On Saturday, the Hawks fell in two matches at the Central Community College Tournament here. In the first match of the day, Bismarck State College beat the Hawks in four sets 22-25, 25-23, 29-31, 25-19.

  • Hawks Drop Two Matches at Central Tournament

  • Northeast Breaks Ground on New Residence Hall/Dining Facility

Governor Dave Heineman was among the dignitaries in attendance Thursday as ground was broken on a $19 million residence hall/dining facility on the Norfolk campus. The buildings will be located near the College’s two existing residence halls and student apartments.

  • Hawks Speech Team Takes Second in Opening Tournament

    by jamesc  10/7/2014 5:31:47 PM --  MOOREHEAD, MN – The Northeast Community College Speech Team opened the fall season with a second place finish in team sweepstakes at the Robert Littlefield and Cindy’s IE Tournament held recently at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. It was sponsored by Concordia, North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota.

  • Hawks Down McCook CC

    by jamesc  10/6/2014 8:29:14 AM --  MCCOOK – The Northeast Community College volleyball team picked up its second win in as many days Saturday. The Hawks beat McCook Community College here in four sets, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20 to improve to 14-7.
