  • Classic Musical to be Staged at Northeast

That tradition will continue beginning next week as the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof will be staged to highlight NCT’s 50th season.

  • Ribbon Cutting and Open House at Northeast's Hartington Office

Approximately 50 people were on hand for an open house and ribbon cutting at the office located in the Hartington City Office building at 107 W. State Street.

  • Northeast Business Students Honored at the State Capitol

    by jamesc  11/20/2014 8:08:39 AM --  LINCOLN – Two Northeast Community College business students were honored this week in Lincoln for recognition of their placement at a national conference this summer. Beth Ebmeier, Laurel, and Jenna McCleary, Battle Creek, were honored at the Nebraska State Board of Education’s “Commissioners Recognition of Student Excellence in Career Education” program in the state capitol rotunda. McCleary was unable to attend the event.

  • Northeast Signs MOU with Concordia University

    by jamesc  11/19/2014 4:20:46 PM --  SEWARD, NE - Students will soon have the opportunity to benefit from a new partnership between Concordia University, Nebraska and Northeast Community College. The presidents of the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Tuesday on Concordia’s campus here to solidify financial and educational commitments of their new partnership, effective immediately.

He was one of several Northeast agriculture students in Ag Instructor Chris Burbach’s class to demo the Lexion combine on loan to the College by Nebraska Harvest Center in Wayne.

  • Pops Concert Held at Northeast

  • Chipps Highlights Veterans' Services at Northeast

    by jamesc  11/7/2014 2:50:10 PM --  NORFOLK – Dr. Michael Chipps, president of Northeast Community College, has a filmed a video geared to military veteran students who attend the college. “I’m here to really celebrate with you veterans, as far as not only for your service, but to be able to attend Northeast Community College,” Chipps said in the opening. The video was shot by students in Brian Anderson’s broadcasting program in front of the College’s Welcome Center.

  • Applied Technology Students Assist on Habitat House

    by jamesc  10/24/2014 3:38:26 PM --  NORFOLK – Students in several applied technology division programs at Northeast Community College continue to work on public service projects in the Norfolk area. Most recently, they assisted with construction of the latest Norfolk Area Habitat for Humanity house near 2nd Street and Park Avenue. Northeast students have worked on several Habitat homes in the city over the years.

  • Northeast Hosts Inaugural Ag Career Fair

    by jamesc  10/17/2014 4:23:56 PM --  Courtesy The Viewpoint NORFOLK - Agriculture cooperatives hoping to get a jump on summer intern hiring set up booths Thursday in Northeast Community College’s Lifelong Learning Center for an Ag Career Fair. They spoke with interested Northeast students who ordinarily might not start to look for internships until spring. Dr. Burton Pflueger, Northeast agriculture instructor, who planned the event, said introducing students to potential employers this early in the year benefits everyone.

  • Northeast Speech Teams Ropes More Wins

    by jamesc  10/17/2014 1:01:01 PM --  NORFOLK - The Northeast Community College speech team captured 12 trophies at its most recent tournament. The Hawks competed in the 2014 Pioneer Trails Tournament, hosted by Casper College in Casper, WY, this past weekend.

  • Northeast Auto Body Students Travel to England

    by jamesc  10/17/2014 12:17:58 PM --  NORFOLK – Five members of the Northeast Community College auto body program and their instructor traveled to the United Kingdom - the second group from the College to travel there in the past year. Instructor Dave Beaudette and his students flew from Omaha to Manchester, England, in late October for a ten visit to nearby North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe, England.

  • Northeast Livestock Judging Team Competes at AkSarBen

    by jamesc  10/3/2014 10:31:51 AM --  OMAHA – The Northeast Community College Livestock Judging Team earned honors at the Ak-Sar-Ben Livestock Judging Contest, held in conjunction with the River City Rodeo and Stock Show in Omaha this past weekend.

  • Northeast Adult Education Team Receives Certification

    by jamesc  10/3/2014 10:28:46 AM --  NORFOLK – Two members of the Northeast Community College Adult Education team have received a first of its kind certification that signifies membership in an elite group of professional managers. Nancy Schultz, director of adult education, and Emily Duncan, adult education coordinator, have both successfully completed an intensive training program and are each as a Certified Manager in Program Improvement (CMPI).
