  • Ribbon Cutting and Open House at Northeast's Hartington Office

Approximately 50 people were on hand for an open house and ribbon cutting at the office located in the Hartington City Office building at 107 W. State Street.

  • Northeast Business Students Honored at the State Capitol

    by jamesc  11/20/2014 8:08:39 AM --  LINCOLN – Two Northeast Community College business students were honored this week in Lincoln for recognition of their placement at a national conference this summer. Beth Ebmeier, Laurel, and Jenna McCleary, Battle Creek, were honored at the Nebraska State Board of Education’s “Commissioners Recognition of Student Excellence in Career Education” program in the state capitol rotunda. McCleary was unable to attend the event.

  • Northeast Signs MOU with Concordia University

    by jamesc  11/19/2014 4:20:46 PM --  SEWARD, NE - Students will soon have the opportunity to benefit from a new partnership between Concordia University, Nebraska and Northeast Community College. The presidents of the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Tuesday on Concordia’s campus here to solidify financial and educational commitments of their new partnership, effective immediately.

  • Northeast to Close for Thanksgiving Break

    by jamesc  11/19/2014 7:39:26 AM --  FT. DODGE, IA – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team captured a 72-55 win over Iowa Central Community College here Tuesday. Jayla Mayes-Jackson led Northeast with 14 points while Megan Trinder had 13.

  • Hawks Men's basketball Team Defeats Little Priest

    by jamesc  11/18/2014 7:08:30 AM --  NORFOLK – After trailing 4-3 in the first two minutes of the game, the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team went on a 12-4 run and never looked back as it defeated Little Priest Tribal College, 108-86. The Hawks improve to 5-0.

  • Hawks Fall to John Cook CC

    by jamesc  11/18/2014 7:05:19 AM --  COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA – Poor shooting and turnovers proved costly to the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team on Friday. The Hawks fell to John Cook Community College, 61-52, here in the Iowa Western Community College Classic. It was the first loss of the season for Northeast.

  • Northeast Receives Scholarship Dollars

Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president, and John W. Davies, Northeast board of governors chairperson, accepted the check from Cathy Kathol, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) retail programs coordinator, and Kurt Dostal, business relationship manager for Wells Fargo Bank, at the regular monthly meeting of the Northeast Board of Governors Thursday here.

  • Hawks Women's Basketball Team Defeats Cloud County

    by jamesc  11/12/2014 8:07:41 AM --  CONCORDIA, KS – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team is now 5-0 after a win over Cloud County Community College Tuesday here. The Thunderbirds had a strong run towards the end, but the Hawks were able to hold on for a 72-60 win.

  • Hawks Men Defeat Iowa Lakes, Improves to 4-0

On Saturday, in the Hawks Classic, Northeast hit four straight free throws in the final minute to seal an 89-83 victory over Iowa Lakes Community College here.

  • Hawks Women's Basketball Team Improves to 3-0

  • Northeast Falls to DMACC in Regional XI Championship Match

    by jamesc  11/10/2014 8:25:42 AM --  MASON CITY, IA – The Northeast Community College volleyball team’s season has come to a close following a four set loss to Des Moines Area Community College Saturday here in the second round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XI Tournament. The scores were 25-14, 23-25, 25-26, 26-24.
