Every Sunday, this fledging team heads to the fields of South Sioux City proudly wearing the red and black of Northeast Community College to achieve victory in the sport commonly known by American standards as soccer.

The new programs include an expansion in the health and wellness transfer concentrations of athletic training – associate of science degree (AS); exercise science (AS); pre-dietetics (AS); and physical education teacher – associate of arts degree.

  • Public Safety Day At Northeast in South Sioux City

Northeast Community College in South Sioux City will host a number of law enforcement and public service agencies on Tuesday, July 22, for a Public Safety Day. The event will run from 6-9 p.m. at the College Center, 1001 College Way.

In addition to the Pinning Ceremony, two associate degree nursing and two practical nursing student were presented the Essence of Nursing Award for their consistent academic effort, caring actions, positive motivation toward classroom learning and clinical experience, and professional behaviors.

  • 38th Adult Education Recognition Night Held at Northeast

The students were honored for completing the requirements to receive a Nebraska high school diploma through the GED ® (General Educational Development) tests administered by Northeast’s Adult Education Program.

  • Risley: Never a Better Time To Be a Community College Graduate

That task can be even greater for a family that has never had a single member attend college. Northeast Community College and South Sioux City Public Schools have created a partnership to make the job of college preparation less daunting, especially for Latino families. “We have a lot of first generation students with parents who are really uncertain how this college process works. They’re not sure how to help their children with college. So we came together to look at ways to provide them information so they can see that it may not be as intimidating as they think,” said Maria Gonzalez, advisor/recruiter for Northeast Community College in South Sioux City.

  • Candidates Announced for 41st Commencement at Northeast

    by jamesc  5/9/2014 1:42:41 PM --  NORFOLK – The 41st Commencement of Northeast Community College will take place on Saturday, May 17, at 10 a.m. in the Cox Activities Center on the Norfolk campus. As of Wednesday, May 7, some 881 students, including those earning double majors, and 207 who completed their studies this past December, were to be listed in the commencement program. Dr. Rod Risley, executive director of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the largest honor society in higher education, will give the commencement address.
