District CDE Ag Contest at Northeast College

by jamesc  3/1/2013 3:53:43 PM --  Northeast electrical construction and control student Dustin Cornwell, Fullerton, describes a troubleshooting scenario for these high school students as part of the Districts 3, 4 and 10 Career Development Event (CDE) Ag Education Contest at Northeast Community College in Norfolk recently.

As part of an ag mechanics exercise, the students had to try to find three electrical problems in the operation of a hog confinement curtain. Approximately 1,100 students from 33 high schools participated in the contest that has been an annual event on the Northeast campus for over 30 years. Most of the Northeast contests were state qualifying events and winners will proceed to the state contest in early April at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Northeast agriculture, horticulture, electrical construction and control, electromechanical, and welding faculty and students hosted the day.
