Do you have plans for the student break October 26th and 27th? Your ever-faithful library
ladies will be delighted to see you on those days, but please be aware that the library will
have reduced hours during fall break. The library hours on the 26th and 27th will be from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Maybe you don't have time (or the funds) to take a trip around the world over the long weekend, but you could take a virtual (and free) tour of 192 countries right from you computer. Check out the library database known as Country Watch. Country Watch provides up-to-date information on all the countries of the world including demographic, political, economic, business, cultural and environmental information. The Country Wire feature provides daily news coverage for all countries and up-to-date news articles from regional wire services from across the globe. Why wait for Brian Williams to tell you what's going on in France, China, Iraq or anywhere else in the world? You can know the latest news in Paris at the same time as the Parisians.
Don't forget that if you want to use Country Watch when you're not on a campus computer, you'll need to locate the password by logging into Hawknet just like you do to check for grades or register for a class. Look for the "database password" link under Library Resources.
Some day, while you're strolling the boulevards of Paris, remember your friendly library ladies and send them a post card. We might even be willing to accompany you as chaperones.
Your Library Don't Do College Without It.
