NORFOLK - College-bound students and their parents intimidated by the financial aid process are encouraged to sign up for personalized assistance during the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Completion Days at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, its extended campuses in O’Neill and West Point and at the College Center in South Sioux City.
Staff from Northeast’s financial aid office will offer personalized assistance in filling out the FAFSA in Norfolk on Saturday, February 22, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., in the College Welcome Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk.
FAFSA Completion Days are also scheduled at the O’Neill Extended Campus on Thursday, February 20, and Thursday, March 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 409 East Adams Street. Sessions are set for Thursday, February 27, and Thursday, March 27, from 3-7 p.m. at the West Point Extended Campus at 202 Anna Stalp Avenue. Sessions are scheduled at the College Center at 1001 College Way in South Sioux City on Monday, February 17, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Tuesday, March 18, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Additional days at the College Center include Tuesday, April 22, Monday, May 19, and Monday, June 16, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
During the one-on-one sessions, students and their parents will receive help in completing the FAFSA on the web. A PIN, completed 2013 federal tax returns, and W-2’s for both the parent(s) and student are required. A computer lab will be available for students to use to complete the FAFSA with a counselor’s assistance.
Students and their parents planning to attend a session in Norfolk are asked to call (402) 844-7285 to schedule an individual appointment for these FAFSA Completion Days. Those planning to attend the South Sioux City sessions should call (402) 241-6400 while those planning to attend the West Point session are asked to call (402) 372-2269. Those interested in the session in O’Neill should call (402) 336-3590. Times are limited.
The Northeast Financial Aid Department will also host FAFSA sessions every Friday from 1-4 p.m. (excluding any Friday the college is closed) from February through June in the College Welcome Center in Norfolk. Walk-ins are welcome.
