  • Bradley is NJCAA Player of the Week

    by jamesc  1/29/2015 8:40:37 AM --  NORFOLK - A member of the Northeast Community College men's basketball team has been named Division I Player of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Jalen Bradley, a 6' 1" guard from Norfolk, averaged 32.5 points for the Hawks during the week of January 19-25. For the season he is averaging 18.4 points per game. He earned the honor after stellar performances over the past week, including a win over a nationally ranked team.

  • Chipps Testifies Against Property Tax Legislation

    by jamesc  1/26/2015 5:51:08 PM --  LINCOLN – The president of Northeast Community College told Nebraska lawmakers Monday that a legislative bill designed to lower a property tax levy lid would be detrimental to the work of the state’s community colleges. “Lowering property taxes and correspondingly lowering the ability to fund Nebraska community colleges, as proposed in LB 144, would be devastating to one of the state's primary economic development systems, which I believe is just the opposite effect that our great state wishes to create,” said Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president.

  • St. Mary's Senior to Play Volleyball at Northeast

    by jamesc  1/26/2015 5:07:03 PM --  NORFOLK – A senior at St. Mary’s High School in O’Neill has signed to play volleyball this fall at Northeast Community College. During the 2014-15 season, Mackenzie Wecker had an 87.2-percent serve average, recorded 36 aces and 398 digs. This season, she broke her own school record for career digs with 1,464. She also set a school record of 28 digs in a single game during her freshman season.

  • Diesel Technology Career Fair

Rash was one of several employers who spoke with diesel technology students during the program’s inaugural Career Fair, held recently in the Diesel Technology building on the College’s Norfolk campus.

With the victory, the Hawks improve to 18-4 overall and 3-1 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. Northeast and Indian Hills are tied at the top in league standings.

  • Students Graduate in December from Northeast
