What is CAP and how does it work?

CAP is an interactive web tool designed specifically for you – college students – to examine and receive feedback on your own beliefs and behaviors related to alcohol use.
CAP allows you to enter your responses to questions and statements about alcohol use and, once completed, generates an informative, personalized report based on the information you submitted.

More Information

When you access CAP, you are prompted to enter information about yourself, but what you say is anonymous and no one will know how you specifically answered the questions.
In addition to asking you to provide demographic information (gender, age, ethnicity, etc.) it will ask you information about your drinking habits, family history, etc.
The CAP usually takes about 5 or 6 minutes to complete. Once you submit your responses, the information you entered is processed (immediately) and incorporated into a personalized, printable report for you to read.
Be honest – remember that all of your responses are completely anonymous.

CAP can be used multiple times and in a variety of ways:

  • as a way to track your personal progress in making a change in personal alcohol use
  • as a useful tool to help you begin important conversations with family or friends.
