Information Technology - PC Support and Networking 2012-2013

The PC Support and Networking concentration will prepare you for success in computer setup, repair, application, configuration, and network careers.

Northeast is a Cisco Network Academy. With the completion of four classes in our Cisco Academy, you’ll be ready to take the Certified Cisco Networking Associate exam. This program will also prepare you for the industry recognized Comp TIA A+ certification exam.

Employment opportunities are expected to increase by 18 to 25 percent. Job growth reflects the rapid evolution of technology. As computers and software become more complex, support specialists will be needed to provide technical assistance to customers and other users. The adoption of new mobile technologies, such as the wireless Internet, will continue to create a need for these workers to familiarize and educate computer users. Consulting jobs for computer support specialists also should continue to increase as businesses seek help managing, upgrading, and customizing ever more complex computer systems.

Salary Information

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average salary for a network administrator is $61,140 and a computer support specialist is $39,190.
