Program Information
Administrative Assistant - Medical 2012-2013
Learn the latest office methods and develop strong technology skills as a part of Northeast's Administrative Assistant program. You'll learn how to present a professional image and work with a variety of people.
In this program of study, you will not only learn the skills to be an efficient office assistant, you will also receive specialized training in medical terminology, preparation of case histories, consultation reports, patient billing, and other medical material. Upon graduation, you will be qualified for entry-level jobs in doctors' offices, hospitals, health departments, insurance offices, and medical/surgical supply firms. Because many health care providers require a criminal background check prior to employment, you may not be eligible for employment if you have a criminal record.
Our program is active with the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). This organization will provide you with networking and learning opportunities.
Intern Information
If you choose the Associate of Applied Science degree concentration, you will gain on-the-job experience through a cooperative internship.
