Professional Continuing Education

Northeast Community College offers a variety of courses that fulfill continuing education licensure requirements for various professions. Northeast works closely with regulatory agencies to assure that continuing education courses meet approval guidelines.

Some of the professions that have regularly scheduled classes include:

Allied Health

The Allied Health Division offers classes and workshops in all aspects of physical and mental health that are available to health care providers and interested individuals.

Northeast Allied Health staff members work closely with health care facilities and organizations to provide high quality education throughout our service area. Some of these facilities and organizations include: the Nebraska Nurses Association, Faith Regional Health Services, Nebraska Healthcare Association, Nebraska Health and Human Services, Region IV services, Northeast Area Agency on Aging, Project Access, University of Nebraska Medical Center, and many more.

Allied Health offers continuing education for licensed health professionals in Nebraska including RNs, LPNs, EMTs, Paramedics, Nursing Home Administrators, Child Care Providers, Registered Dietitians, Certified Nurse Aides, Medication Aides, Social Workers, professional Counselors, Certified Dietary Managers, Cosmetologists, Physicians, and Pharmacists.

Computer Training

Northeast Community College offers a variety of computer classes. Examples include:

  • Introduction to CAD

Classes are scheduled in Norfolk on the main campus, online, and in the Education Centers in O’Neill, South Sioux City, and West Point. Computer training can also be customized for specific business and industry needs.

Personal Enrichment/Hobby and Recreation

Northeast Community College provides a variety of personal interest classes throughout its 20-county service area. Examples of classes include but are not limited to: Conversational Spanish, Sign Language, Photography, Landscaping, Financial Planning, ACT Preparation, Woodworking, Genealogy, Interior Decorating, and Calligraphy.
