Basic Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. The book is located in the campus bookstore, 402-844-7140. CLASS CANNOT BE REGISTERED ONLINE. An additional $30 fee will be required if student choose to register to take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam at the end of the course. This $30 fee will be required at the time of the non-credit exam registration.

Herbal Gardening

Most culinary herbs will grow well in Nebraska. Learn about container and small bed gardening with culinary and native herbs. Create an herbal container to take home,and enjoy fresh herbs through the summer! (Cost includes $20.00 materials fee).

Out & About in Native Nebraska

Enjoy a day out in the fields and woods! We will walk and talk about the plants we encounter and make fresh nettles vinegar to take home. We will meet at the Northeast Community College O'Neill Extended Campus, and we will drive approximately 15 miles to Page for the class. Bring a sack lunch and a beverage, and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Quickbooks I

This course is an introduction to Quickbooks. Its main objectives are to introduce you to the basic features in Quickbooks and to give you an opportunity for hands on practice. You will learn about the types of information you need to track in your business or on the job, how to modify reports to fit your business, and you will see how to enter that information and track it in Quickbooks. By the time you complete this course, you will be familiar with the most common tasks, and you will know where to find information about more advanced features.

Quickbooks II

This course will cover discussion including the basics of dealing with inventory, collecting and paying sales tax, payroll, customization of forms, and year-end documents. This class is recommended for students with a basic understanding of Quickbooks, and/or those who have attended Quickbooks I.
