8 to Great: Solutions for Businesses

8 to Great is a simple 8 step empowerment process that was developed by a nationally known, award winning author and trainer, M.K. Mueller. This process will help you lead a happier, healthier, more successful life and help others to do the same. With the assistance of Northeast's certified trainers, participants will explore their passion and purpose, learn concrete strategies for making it happen, and develop tools for making good decisions. The mission of this program is to inspire and instill life-long habits that increase emotional health, overall happiness, and personal and professional success. ACT Preparation Workshop

Basic Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. The book is located in the campus bookstore, 402-844-7140. CLASS CANNOT BE REGISTERED ONLINE. An additional $40 fee will be required if student choose to register to take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam at the end of the course. This $40 fee will be required at the time of the non-credit exam registration.

Brainstorming and Problem Solving

Brainstorming, when done correctly, is a powerful tool for teams. Brainstorming creates new ideas, solves problems, motivates and develops. However, brainstorming is not simply a random activity. Successful brainstorming session need to be structured and follow brainstorming rules. Cpr Instructor Course

CPR instructor training for those currently qualified in basic life support. CPR Instructor Renewal

This American Heart Association course is a recertification for current CPR Instructors. Any new materials and new procedures will be included in this 4-hour class. Students must bring their current instructor card. You MUST pre-register.

Critical Thinking

Are you a critical thinker? Would you like to be? The goals of this program are to make the best decision under the circumstances that individuals are presented with, recognize and address potential problems systematically, and understand the necessary techniques and skills to be a critical thinker. The program will concentrate on a nine-step process to accomplish these goals and purposes. Registration deadline is February 12, 2015.

Customer Service Excellence

In the competitive environment we live in, you cannot stop at gaining new customers; you have to be relentless at retaining customers through exceptional customer service. This seminar will teach basic customer service principals that anyone with customer contact can apply to the workplace to increase customer satisfaction and retention. Digital Photography I: Get Off Auto

Are you overwhelmed by the complicated buttons, menus, and settings on your DSLR camera? Have not fear, the time to explore your camera is here. This class is great for hobbyist who are looking to brush up on their skills, as well as first-time DSLR camera owners who are trying to get more out of their camera. (This class is not applicable to the digital point-and-shoot camera owners.)

Digital Photography II: Get Onto Manual

So you think you know how to use your DSLR camera? In this class apply your knowledge of shutter speed and aperture to take your photography to the next level. Explore your creativity and learn from a professional portrait photographer. Learn how to take better images of your children, or your next vacation. It is recommended participants take Digital Photography I prior to enrolling in this course.

Digital Photography III: Shoot in Real Life

Apply your knowledge of Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO to take great images of your family and life as it happens. Learn how to see light, and how to position yourself for a great exposure. This class will include a LIVE SHOOT with hands on instruction. It is recommended that participants have taken Digital Photography I and II, and/or be currently shooting in manual mode. Students must bring their own DSLR camera. Instructor will email each student prior to start date.

Electrical Licensing I

Class will cover a minimum of 8 hours on code with the additional 8 hours on related topics. These classes are tailored to fit class needs and requirements and will also cover the changes in the National Electrical Code and Calculations. Used for education hours needed for licensing.

EMS Instructor Continuing Education Course

This workshop is intended to deliver continuing education to Emergency Medical Service instructors to maintain their instructor license. The instructor will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course for the amount of hours attended. Topics in this class may include a combination of some or all of the following: EMS Course Curriculum Updates; EMS Legislation and Regulations; EMS Evaluation Methods; and Fundamentals of Teaching Adults. Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens

This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens (BBP) training when paired with site-specific instruction. The American Heart Association's course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and slogan, "Make a PACT, Know How to Act," to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training. Microsoft Excel - Formulas and Functions

Need to perform calculations on data in an Excel spreadsheet? Learn how to create formulas and let Excel do the calculations for you. Then learn how to use functions (prewritten formulas) to shorten and simplify formulas. After this session, you will be able to use formulas and functions to perform simple or complex calculations on a single worksheet or across multiple worksheets, combine multiple columns of data into a single column, and effectively utilize the five most common functions. Microsoft Word 2013 Level 2

For those who have a good understanding of Microsoft Word, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to use Microsoft Word at an advanced level. You will become confident in a range of Word's sophisticated features including mail merge, using wizard and Excel Data sources, tables, bookmarks, and more. Microsoft Word-Using Mail Merge, Tables, Electronic Forms

This workshop will provide skills for organizing and presenting information in a variety of formats using MS Word. Learn to use the mail merge feature to produce letters, mailing labels, envelopes, name tags, and other documents from information stored in a list, database, or spreadsheet. Learn how to summarize and present numerical data to text information in rows and columns using tables. Finally, are you looking for a way to collect and organize information from others? P.O.P. Driver Training

This is a Provisional Operators Permit Driver Training course. Individuals need to be 14-17 years old. Students will acquire the basic skills to operate a vehicle. Bring Learner's or School permit first day of class. Parents/Guardians are asked to attend the first 30 minutes of first class. 20 hours of classroom and at least 6 hours of driving are required. Pediatric Basic Life Support and First Aid

Designed to prepare students to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation on infants and children, relieve a foreign body airway obstruction from infants and children as well as basic first aid. The training meets the requirements of the American Heart Association for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Professional Truck Driving

Northeast Community College's Professional Truck Driver Training program is an intensive six-week course scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Also, around the fifth week of class students go for night drives and long runs. This entails being gone for a week, overnights and 14 hours days. Students will learn to operate articulated vehicles in a training environment that includes driving on city streets, two-lane, and interstate highways. Tuition and fees for six-week program are $1,995. Books and training materials are not included.
