Basic Auto Body Theory I & Lab

This course has been redesigned and updated to provide an opportunity for students to learn and adopt methods to restore vehicles. Topics include panel adjustment, rust repair, dent repair, sheet metal replacement, priming, sanding, painting, and buffing. Must register for theory and lab class.

Basic Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. The book is located in the campus bookstore, 402-844-7140. CLASS CANNOT BE REGISTERED ONLINE. An additional $30 fee will be required if student choose to register to take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam at the end of the course. This $30 fee will be required at the time of the non-credit exam registration.

Digital Photography I: Get Off Auto

Are you overwhelmed by the complicated buttons, menus, and settings on your DSLR camera? Have not fear, the time to explore your camera is here. This class is great for hobbyist who are looking to brush up on their skills, as well as first-time DSLR camera owners who are trying to get more out of their camera. (This class is not applicable to the digital point-and-shoot camera owners.)

Digital Photography II: Get Onto Manual

So you think you know how to use your DSLR camera? In this class apply your knowledge of shutter speed and aperture to take your photography to the next level. Explore your creativity and learn from a professional portrait photographer. Learn how to take better images of your children, or your next vacation. It is recommended participants take Digital Photography I prior to enrolling in this course.

EMT Part I

This course is dedicated to the study and application of the knowledge and skills necessary for an individual to become an Emergency Medical Technician and provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance service or other specialized service. The course will include the first half of the applications/skills needed to apply for licensure as an EMT in the State of Nebraska. After successful completion of this course and EMTL-1845 the student will be eligible to apply to test for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) cognitive examination. Once the student has passed both the cognitive and practical skills examinations of the NREMT he/she can apply to obtain an EMT license in the State of Nebraska. This class contains the current information found in the National EMS Education Standards as outlined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Student must have current CPR certification, American Heart Association-Healthcare Provider Level or equivalent.

Heartsaver First Aid

The Heartsaver First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes: general principles, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies. First Aid course topics may include: rescuer duties, victim and rescuer safety, phoning for help, finding the problem, after the emergency, breathing problems, choking, bad allergic reactions, heart attack, fainting, diabetes and low blood sugar, stroke, seizures, shock, wounds, head, neck, and spine injury, broken bones and sprains, burns and electrocution, bites and stings, temperature-related emergencies, and poison emergencies. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. It covers the four steps of first aid and first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging and using an Epinephrine pen, as well as child CPR AED, infant CPR and optional modules in adult CPR AED, child mask, infant mask and Asthma Care Training for Child Care Providers. Medication Aide

This course is designed to prepare the student to meet the requirements of the Medication Aide Act and the responsibilities of the medication aide in an assisted living facility and/or nursing facility. This course includes information regarding medication administration, pharmacology, rules and regulations, classification of drugs, orders, storage, abbreviations and an overview of commonly used drugs and documentation. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state administered written exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the student\'s name will be placed on the medication aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. Microenterprise Tax Credit & Construction Contractors

At our semi-annual educational seminars, complex sales tax law is presented and explained in a plain-and-simple, down-to-earth manner. But wait, there is more! New tax credit program! Did you know there is a new program under the Nebraska Advantage Act that provides refundable income tax credits specifically for individuals involved in Microenterprises? Be sure to attend to learn if you qualify for this credit. You will also learn: How the recent law changes affect you; How to properly remit sales and use tax; When building materials may be purchased tax-free; How to document your tax-free purchase of building materials; The proper forms to use when doing a tax-exempt job; and How to properly compute Nebraska tax when doing a job in another state.

Motorcycle Rider Course

The Motorcycle Rider Course includes five(5) hours of classroom instruction and ten (10) hours of riding instruction. It begins with the basics, such as turning, shifting, and braking. Then it moves on to more advanced street riding strategies. We provide the motorcycles. Professionally trained instructors teach in the classroom and then coach riders in a controlled riding area. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the required waiver form. In order to pass, you must attend all classroom and riding sessions and pass the knowledge and skills test. P.O.P. Driver Training

This is a Provisional Operators Permit Driver Training course. Individuals need to be 14-17 years old. Students will acquire the basic skills to operate a vehicle. Bring Learner's or School permit first day of class. 20 hours of classroom and at least 6 hours of driving are required. The book is provided for the class. Peer Today, Boss Tomorrow

Professional Truck Driving

Northeast Community College's Professional Truck Driver Training program is an intensive six-week course scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Also, around the fifth week of class students go for night drives and long runs. This entails being gone for a week, overnights and 14 hours days. Students will learn to operate articulated vehicles in a training environment that includes driving on city streets, two-lane, and interstate highways. Tuition and fees for six-week program are $1,995. Books and training materials are not included.
