Basic Computer I

This class is for the person who has very limited computer knowledge or none at all. The student will be taught beginning computer skills including powering the computer on and off, using a mouse and keyboard, utilizing the desktop, and launching programs. This class will be taught at a very relaxed pace for those apprehensive about operating a computer. There will be significant hands-on practice of each concept.

Basic Computer II

This class is for the person who has very limited computer knowledge. The student will be taught beginning level computer skills. This class will review and build upon skills learned in Basic Computers I. Concepts including using a word processor and working with tool bars and the task bar. This class is taught at a very relaxed pace for those persons apprehensive about operating a computer. There will be significant hands-on practice of each concept.

Basic Computers for Seniors - Level 1

This class is especially tailored to those 55 or over who have limited or no computer knowledge. Learn basic level computer skills including powering the computer on and off, using a mouse and keyboard, taking care of your hardware, using a CD, working with the Windows 7 desktop environment, and launching and starting programs, using a word processor and working with files and folders.

Basic Computers for Seniors - Level 2

Learn intermediate computer skills in the Windows 7 operating system. This class will provide a review of concepts learned in Basic Computer Level 1 as well as new topics: copying a CD, backing up data files, adding and removing programs, and Windows updates. There will also be a brief introduction to the Internet.

Basic Computers for Seniors - Level 3

Discover the Internet and email. Discussion will include internet connections and browsers, effective subjective searching techniques and navigation of the Web, as well as safety concerns including identity theft and security software. Advance into types of email accounts, how to create email messages and contact lists, and more. Student must have good working knowledge of a computer and be able to use a keyboard and mouse.

Basic Computers III

This class is for the person who has very limited computer knowledge. The student will be taught beginning level computer skills. This class will review and build upon skills learned in Basic Computers I and II. Concepts including using the copy, cut and paste options in the Microsoft Office operating system, and browsing the internet using Internet Explorer. This class is taught at a very relaxed pace for those persons apprehensive about operating a computer. There will be significant hands-on practice of each concept.

Evernote for Everyday

Increase productivity with Evernote software and app. It's an easy and efficient way to organize your home and work life. Regardless of the computer or portable device you use, Evernote enables you to turn text, pictures, audio messages, checklists, scanned documents, and just about anything else you can imagine into stored notes. In this course you'll learn to create notes, store information and sync so you can access your information on all devices. In this class you'll learn how to make and format a note; create, modify, and stack notebooks; use tags and atlas interfacts; and EverNote Premium.

iPad - Applications

The Apple iPad has many applications (Apps) for free. Learn about some of the most popular apps and how to use them. Participants will need to bring their own iPad fully charged, and know their Apple ID and password to allow for the downloading of free apps in class.

Microsoft Excel 2013 - Level 2

This course is designed for the experienced Excel user covering topics such as: working with large worksheets; adding graphics to worksheets; using templates; protecting workbooks; linking cells and worksheets; and creating tables and outlines.

Microsoft Word 2013 Level 2

For those who have a good understanding of Microsoft Word, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to use Microsoft Word at an advanced level. You will become confident in a range of Word's sophisticated features including mail merge, using wizard and Excel Data sources, tables, bookmarks, and more. Workbooks to be pruchased from the campus bookstore (approx. $16.00).

MS Excel 2013 - Level 1

This class is for new users of Excel or users that are converting from one of the first versions of Excel. The material covered will include: Learning about the ribbon, navigation; spreadsheet creation; editing; saving; formatting; creating formulas; and all basic commands in using Excel.

MS Excel 2013, Level 2

This class is for users that have been exposed to Excel and the commands. The material covered includes: Creating tables and graphs; working with large worksheets; adding graphics to worksheets; moving and sizing images; using smart art; using and managing multiple worksheets; named ranges; using outlining tools and pivot ranges.

MS Outlook

Outlook is a personal information software program that's available with the Microsoft Office Suite. Although it's mostly used as an email client, it can also be used for managing tasks, keeping your calendar, managing contacts, taking notes, journaling, and even connecting with friends and colleagues via social networks. Unlike other email programs out there that you can install on your computer, Outlook can be your email program and planner all in one.

MS Publisher

Learn the basics of desktop publishing including creating, saving and printing publications. Utilize basic publishing skills and find out how to package and send publications via email. Topics will include drawing objects, graphics, and test tools, formatting, enhancing and editing publications, working with publication designs, customizing publications, using tables, and utilizing mail merge.

QuickBooks 2013, Level 1

This course covers the basics of setting up a company; creating customers; receiving payments; and making deposits into your bank accounts. We will work with and create vendors and paying bills as well as create and edit a chart of accounts for your company; run reports; and reconcile bank accounts.

QuickBooks 2013, Level 2

This course covers creating inventory, dealing with items, and adjusting inventory counts on a continual basis. Learn about Sales Tax and Sales Tax groups, paying your sales tax, running payroll, and paying your payroll liabilities. We will create capital assets and utilize the Loan Manager, creating an amortization schedule. We will also discuss dealing with bad debt and creating journal entries.

Windows 8

What are the benefits of Windows 8? Should you upgrade or not? Do you need a ""touch screen"" to run the operating system? Come see the newest Windows operating system demystified and learn how to get the most from it. Hit the ground running when you or your company upgrade. Participants who own Windows 8 laptops are encouraged to bring them. This will be a lecture based class.
