Basic Auto Body Theory I & Lab

This course has been redesigned and updated to provide an opportunity for students to learn and adopt methods to restore vehicles. Topics include panel adjustment, rust repair, dent repair, sheet metal replacement, priming, sanding, painting, and buffing. Must register for theory and lab class.

Basic Computers I

This class is for the person who has very limited computer knowledge or none at all. The student will be taught beginning computer skills including powering the computer on and off, using a mouse and keyboard, utilizing the desktop, and launching programs. This class will be taught at a very relaxed pace for those apprehensive about operating a computer. There will be significant hands-on practice of each concept.

This class is for the person who has very limited computer knowledge. The student will be taught beginning level computer skills. This class will review and build upon skills learned in Basic Computers I. Concepts including using a word processor and working with tool bars and the task bar. This class is taught at a very relaxed pace for those persons apprehensive about operating a computer. There will be significant hands-on practice of each concept.

This class is for the person who has very limited computer knowledge. The student will be taught beginning level computer skills. This class will review and build upon skills learned in Basic Computers I and II. Concepts including using the copy, cut and paste options in the Microsoft Office operating system, and browsing the internet using Internet Explorer. This class is taught at a very relaxed pace for those persons apprehensive about operating a computer. There will be significant hands-on practice of each concept.

CPR Instructor Renewal

This American Heart Association course is a recertification for current CPR Instructors. Any new materials and new procedures will be included in this 4-hour class. Students must bring their current instructor card. You MUST pre-register.

Digital Camera I

Are you considering buying a digital camera but don't know what to look for? Or maybe you have a digital camera, but aren't sure how to make it work? If so, this class is for you! Instructor will discuss the different types of digital cameras available, how to choose a digital camera, and how to get started with your digital point-and-shoot camera. Students will learn how to choose, load, and unload batteries and memory cards, how to take basic digital photos, how to transfer photos from the camera to the computer, how to view photos, and how to order prints. If you already own a digital point-and-shoot camera, please bring with you.

Digital Camera II

This class is intended for owners of digital point-and-shoot cameras who have developed basic skills and are looking to use their camera more effectively. Students will learn how to archive photos, including burning them to a disk and renaming the photo files. Students will learn how to use the self-timer and movie modes. Various skills for taking good photos will be covered, such as white balance, common mistakes, basic photo composition, and tips for taking various types of photos. Discussions will include camera accessories, basic photo editing, and posting photos on internet sites. Please bring your camera with you to class.

Digital Photography I: Get Off Auto

Are you overwhelmed by the complicated buttons, menus, and settings on your DSLR camera? Have not fear, the time to explore your camera is here. This class is great for hobbyist who are looking to brush up on their skills, as well as first-time DSLR camera owners who are trying to get more out of their camera.

Digital Photography II: Get onto Manual

So you think you know how to use your DSLR camera? In this class apply your knowledge of shutter speed and aperture to take your photography to the next level. Explore your creativity and learn from a professional portrait photographer. Learn how to take better images of your children, or your next vacation. It is recommended participants take Digital Photography I prior to enrolling in this course.

Driver's Education

This class is for Nebraska residents, 14-17 years of age, and will teach the basic skills of how to operate a vehicle. The class consists of both classroom lecture and lab (driving times to be assigned at first class.) Participants must provide copy of Learner's Permit at time of registration. Twenty hours of classroom and at least six (6) hours of driving are required.

E-mail I

This is a brief introduction to skills needed to use e-mail. The student will learn the types of e-mail accounts available, creating a contact list, new e-mail, forwarding, replying, and printing as well as using the cc and bcc functions to properly forward e-mails without compromising a friend's security and reducing the chance of spamming. Students must have a good working knowledge of a computer and be able to use a keyboard and mouse. This class is taught in a very relaxed pace for those persons apprehensive about operating a computer. There will be significant hands on practice for each concept.

Excel Spreadsheet Applications

This course begins with entry-level techniques and quickly progresses into more advanced functions. Advanced topics of integrating database files into spreadsheets, how to write macros, Visual Basic code and graphic fundamentals will be presented. Basic keyboarding skills are essential. (3 credit class)

Father's Day-Not Your Ordinary Steak and Potato

How about spicing up that steak and jazzing up your potato? Chef Paul will explore with class participants ways to enhance the flavors of this classic American favorite. Forklift Safety Training

Handling materials and products safely and efficiently is a major factor in the success of numerous industries throughout the world. That is why it is critical that forklift operators are properly trained in the engineering principles and safe operating techniques of the various types of equipment used today. Keep yourself and your workplace safe from one of the leading causes of workplace injuries. Forklift training is required for all operators to develop & reinforce safe operating practices, learn the differences between various lift trucks, reduce injuries to co-workers and operators, and minimize damage to property and cargo. GHS Seminar & Hazard Communication Standard Update

In March 2012 OSHA modified the Hazard Communication Standard to adopt the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labeling of Chemicals better known as GHS. GHS is a logical and comprehensive approach to standardizing the classification and labeling of chemicals which will improve safety and health of workers through more effective communication by: Defining health, physical and environmental hazards of chemicals; Creating classification processes that use available data on chemicals for comparison with the defined hazard criteria; and Communicating hazard information, as well as protective measures on labels and Safety Data Sheets or SDS (formerly MSDS). Training topics include: Phase-in period and effective completion dates; Format templates for labels and SDS; Employee training requirements (employer responsibilities); Major changes to the HCS; Changes in chemical hazard evaluation and How businesses and workers will be affected by the revised HCS.

Healthcare Provider CPR

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Healthcare Provider Renewal

Healthcare Provider CPR Renewal is a course that is specifically designed to provide in-depth training including 2-man and use of the AED. This program is for those of you who hold a professional license, work in a healthcare facility, or volunteer with a fire department or EMS Service and have a current card that needs renewing. Heartsaver Adult CPR and AED

The Heartsaver CPR course is a modular CPR course that teaches how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies including cardiac arrest and choking for responsive and non-responsive adults, children and infants. The general public is the target audience for this course. the application and use of the automated, electronic defibrillator (AED) is also included. Book is available at the bookstore, 402-844-7140. Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens

This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens (BBP) training when paired with site-specific instruction. The American Heart Association's course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and slogan, "Make a PACT, Know How to Act," to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training. Students will learn how to: Protect themselves from exposure to bloodborne pathogens, Act when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace, Clean themselves and the area when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace. Heartsaver First Aid

The Heartsaver First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes: general principles, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies. First Aid course topics may include: rescuer duties, victim and rescuer safety, phoning for help, finding the problem, after the emergency, breathing problems, choking, bad allergic reactions, heart attack, fainting, diabetes and low blood sugar, stroke, seizures, shock, wounds, head, neck, and spine injury, broken bones and sprains, burns and electrocution, bites and stings, temperature-related emergencies, and poison emergencies. This course is designed for any person who wants to learn these important life saving skills, and for those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Hebrew for Beginners

Always wanted to learn Hebrew? In this 6-week course you will discover the beauties of this ancient language. The course includes learning the script, reading words and sentences, Hebrew handwriting and conversation. You will learn Hebrew through songs, as part of a fun and practical way to learn. This course is designed for iPad owners who want to learn how to use the Apple iPad more efficiently. Lpn-c Update

LPN-Cs and RNs will safely provide competent nursing care related to IV therapy. Objectives: Identify the regulations, policies and procedures governing involvement with intravenous therapy (IV) for the LPN-C. Discuss infection control principles and safety measures related to intravenous infusion therapy to promote optimal patient outcomes Review fluid and electrolyte balance related to intravenous infusion therapy. Determine special needs of older adults receiving IV therapy. Outline the responsibilities of the LPN-C related to IV fluid administration in the provision of safe and competent nursing care. Examine the responsibilities of the LPN-C related to IV medication administration in the provision of safe and competent nursing care. Review appropriate documentation and safety related to IV therapy. This activity has been submitted to the Washington State Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval & Recognition Program (CEARP) for approval to award contact hours (6.25). Motorcycle Rider Course

The Motorcycle Rider Course includes five(5) hours of classroom instruction and ten (10) hours of riding instruction. It begins with the basics, such as turning, shifting, and braking. Then it moves on to more advanced street riding strategies. We provide the motorcycles. Professionally trained instructors teach in the classroom and then coach riders in a controlled riding area. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the required waiver form. In order to pass, you must attend all classroom and riding sessions and pass the knowledge and skills test. P.O.P. Driver Training

This is a Provisional Operators Permit Driver Training course. Individuals need to be 14-17 years old. Students will acquire the basic skills to operate a vehicle. At least one parent/guardian must be present for the first part of the first class. Bring Learner's or School permit first day of class. The classroom portion will meet June 2- June 8, 2013, Sunday-Friday 4-7:00 pm. and Saturday 9-12:00 pm. The driving experience will be arranged with the student between June 8-July 6, 2013. 20 hours of classroom and at least 6 hours of driving are required. The Web Page Development course is intended to show students what the basic HTML code is behind a web page and how to use HTML to construct a site.
