The ASSET/COMPASS program is a series of short placement tests developed by ACT to help you succeed in your educational program. ASSET/COMPASS has three tests of basic skills in writing, reading, and numerical reasoning. All community colleges in Nebraska accept ASSET test scores or COMPASS scores (the computerized version of the ASSET).
Anyone wishing to enroll in six (6) credits or more; in English, reading, or math courses; or in courses with English, reading, or math prerequisites must complete the WRITING SKILLS, READING SKILLS, and NUMERICAL SKILLS sections of the ASSET/COMPASS. The only exceptions to this requirement are transfer-in or previously completed coursework and/or appropriate ACT. Students must have official copies of their transcripts and/or test scores on file in the Student Services office to claim the exemption(s). Plan on two and a half hours for the test. Please bring photo ID.
