Amanda Schultze

Head Coach Amanda Schultze“I’m very excited to be at Northeast Community College and be part of a great college and community,” Schultze said. “I look forward to building a volleyball program at Northeast.”

Schultze, the former Amanda Nelson, is a 2006 graduate of Wakefield High School. She attended Central Community College in Columbus for two years, where she received an Associate’s degree. She earned All-American honors as a setter with the Raiders. She then transferred to Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, where she played libero for the Mustangs.

Schultze earned her Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Morningside College and obtained her Master’s degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in sport management from Wayne State College. She has been a graduate assistant volleyball coach at Wayne State the past two seasons.

Assistant Coach Sarah Novak

Coach Novak

Sarah Novak is a 2007 graduate of Howells High School. She attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice for two years, where she received an Associate’s Degree. While there, she earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 9 All-Conference, All-Region, and All-Tournament honors as an outside hitter for the Storm. She then transferred to Peru State College where she was an outside hitter for the Bobcats. Novak was a two-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) Scholar-Athlete, NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and a MCAC 2nd Team All-Conference athlete. In her last year at Peru State, she was the Bobcat’s strength and conditioning coach and student-assistant coach. While coaching, Novak was a member of Character Driven Coaching – Champions of Character.

Novak earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Peru State College. She is now in the process of obtaining her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Sport Management at Wayne State College while being a graduate assistant in the Health, Human Performance and Sport department.
