2012-13 Player Profiles

Andrea “AJ” Johnson - 5’4” – Sophomore – Silver Springs, Maryland – Guard

College: As the starting point guard in 2011-12, AJ averaged 9 points and 4 assists per game for the Hawks. AJ’s major is Sport Management.

Prep: While playing for Bethesda High School, AJ was a two time Honorable Mention All-State selection and was also named 2nd Team All-Gazette.

Andrea is the daughter of Marion Keita and Michael Johnson.

Emily Gamble - 5’10” – Freshman – Omaha, NE – Guard/Forward

Prep: Emily was a key piece in helping Omaha Central High School capture the 2012 Class A Nebraska State Championship. As a senior, Emily averaged 10 points per game and was named an Honorable Mention All-Stater. She was a three-sport athlete who made the honor roll every semester while in high school. Emily’s major is Personal Training.

Emily is the daughter of Terri Dawson and the late Rodney Gamble.


Debinique Knowles - 5’9” - Freshman – Nassau, Bahamas – Guard/Forward

Prep: Debinique played at Word of Life Traditional School in Wichita, Kansas, where she was named team MVP for three consecutive seasons. She was also named to the All-Metro Team. Debinique is a Behavioral Science major.

Debinique is the daughter of Debbie McKenzie-Lightbourn and Ricardo Knowles.


Bethany DeLong - 5’8” – Sophomore – Laurel, Nebraska – Guard/Forward

College: Bethany comes to Northeast Community College after spending two years at Colorado State University as a Division I Track athlete.

Prep: Bethany had a very solid basketball career at Laurel-Concord High School, where she received several All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention honors, but she was probably most known for her dominance in the sport of track. Bethany still holds the Class C State Long Jump Record, which she set in 2009. Bethany is a Health, PE and Recreation major.

Bethany is the daughter of Rolly and Cindy DeLong.


Raveen Murray - 5’6” – Freshman – Merrillville, Indiana – Guard

Prep: Raveen received her team’s MVP award in 2011 and 2012. This Merrillville standout scored the most points in season with 485 and finished her high school career by amassing 1,373 career points, 314 assists, and 288 steals. Raveen was selected to the Indiana All-Star team in 2012. Raveen is majoring in Sports Management.

Raveen is the daughter of LaDonna Gant and Daryl Murray Sr.


Shelby Saner - 5’9” – Freshman – Dunning, Nebraska – Forward

Prep: Shelby helped lead Sandhills-Dunning High School to the Nebraska State Tournament in 2012. She was selected as a 2nd Team All-Stater and as a Sandhills All Conference Player. Shelby was a three year High School Honor Roll student and is now majoring in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.

Shelby is the daughter of Kurt and Jeanine Saner.


Lexi Murphy - 5’9” – Freshman – Papillion-LaVista, Nebraska – Guard/Forward

Prep: Lexi excelled on the basketball court, as well as the softball diamond. In basketball, Lexi was an All-State Honorable Mention selection and a Metro All-Star. She helped lead her team to a state tournament berth her junior year. In softball, Lexi helped her team win the 2010 Nebraska Class A State Championship. Lexi is a Social Science major.

Lexi is the daughter of Alex Murphy and Brenda Murphy.


Alison Klostergaard - 5’11” – Freshman – Beresford, SD – Guard/Forward

Prep: Alison had a great athletic career at Beresford High School. She was a two-time South Dakota All State Basketball Selection and a four-time All-Conference Selection. She also received post season honors in volleyball and was a state placer for three years in track. Alison is pursuing General Studies at this time.

Alison is the daughter of Brad and Linda Klostergaard.


Sarah Pieper - 5’5” – Sophomore – Norfolk, Nebraska – Guard

College: Sarah played a solid role as a freshman. She contributed 5 points per game and 2 assists per game.

Prep: Sarah was a multi-sport athlete at Norfolk Catholic High School. Her team qualified for the state basketball tournament her junior year and she also received 2nd Team All-Area honors during her senior year in volleyball. Sarah is studying Pre-Professional Physical Therapy.

Sarah is the daughter of Bernie and Marcia Pieper.


Jaylan Spencer - 6’0” – Sophomore – Millard, Nebraska – Forward

College: Jaylan played at Western State College, in Colorado, this past season where she averaged 5 points per game. She also received RMAC Player of the Week honors for her 10 point performance vs. Baylor.

Prep: Jaylan played for Millard West High School and was selected as a 2nd Team All-Stater. She averaged 14.7 points per game and 8 rebounds per game her senior year. Jaylan is a Behavioral Science major.

Ivana Vuletic - 6’3” – Sophomore – Norrkoping, Sweden – Center

College: Ivana suffered a foot injury during her freshman season, which only allowed her to play during 12 games. During those 12 games, she was a part-time starter.

Prep: Ivana played for the 16 and Under and the 18 and Under National Teams for Sweden. Ivana helped her team earn a fourth place finish in the Swedish Championships. Ivana averaged 15 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Ivana is a Business Administration major.

Ivana is the daughter of Lidija and Sinisa Vuletic.


Taisiya Novokreshchenova - 5’11” – Freshman – Moscow, Russia – Forward

Prep: Taisiya received the Most Outstanding International Female Student Award at Adelphi Christian Academy and also received MVP honors for the basketball team at Adelphi Christian Academy. While at Word of Life Traditional School in Wichita, Kansas, Taisiya received Offensive Player honors.

Taisiya is a Business major.

Taisiya is the daughter of Viktor Novokreshchenov and Larisa Novokreshchenova.

Desirae is the daughter of Brad Small and Lori Francksen.
