2012-13 Player Profiles

Sean McGary - 6’2” – SO - Omaha, Nebraska – Guard

College: Sean played in two games last year before suffering a season-ending leg injury. During the 2010-11 season McGary appeared in 21 games. He averaged 4.6 points per game while shooting 47% from the field. McGary scored 19 points and had 7 rebounds against top 10 rated Missouri State-West Plains that year. Sean averaged 2.2 rebounds a game and had a 2/1 assist-to-turnover ratio last year for the Hawks. His major is General Business.

Prep: Sean was a two-year starter at Omaha Central for head coach Eric Behrens. He helped lead the Eagles to a 2010 Class A State Championship. In his senior year, he averaged nearly 16 points a game along with 5 assists and 6 rebounds per game. McGary was a two-time All-Conference Selection, as well as a two-time Honorable Mention All-State Selection. In addition, McGary was an Academic All-State Honoree. McGary’s traveling team was the Midwest Stars coached by Herb Welling.

Sean is the son of Phillip and Marilyn McGary.

 

Sean Scott - 6’3” – FR – Minneapolis, Minnesota – Guard

Prep: Scott help lead Spring Lake Park High School to a 21-5 record during his senior year and averaged 24.7 points a game. The left-handed wing holds the school record for career points with 1,412. The senior was named First Team North Suburban Conference, Second Team All-Metro by the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and Honorable Mention All-Stater by the Associated Press. His major is Health PE and Recreation.

Sean is the son of Patrick Parker.

 

Jimmie Coleman - 5’11” – SO – Michigan City, Indiana – Guard

College: Coleman appeared in all 31 games last year for the Hawks. He scored a career high 10 points against Iowa Central Community College. Jimmie made one start last year. The point guard had six multiple assist games. His major is Personal Training.

Prep: In Jimmie’s senior campaign, he was selected the Most Improved Player at Morton Senior High School. Coleman played under Coach Robert Hall. He averaged 8 points a game and led the team in assists. Jimmie will man the point guard position for the Hawks.

Jimmie is the son of Diane and Jimmie Coleman Sr.

 

Blake Heppner - 6’6” – FR – Stanton, Nebraska – Forward

Prep: Heppner helped Stanton High School to a 21-2 regular-season record and a berth in the Class B Nebraska State Boys' Basketball Tournament last year. He averaged 17.1 points and 8.3 rebounds a game. Heppner was named to the Class C-2 All-State Team by the Omaha World-Herald and First Team Class C-2 squad by the Associated Press. His major is General Studies.

Blake is the son of Marj and Jeff Heppner.

 

Bryce Williams - 6’0” – FR – Minneapolis, Minnesota – Guard

Prep: William’s was part of Spring Lake Park High School’s 21-5 squad that made it to the Class 3A Sectional Finals. Williams averaged 19.7 points a game during his senior campaign. The North Suburban Conference named Williams First Team All-Conference and he was also named Honorable Mention All-State by the Associated Press. His major is Business Administration.

Bryce is the son of Angela Williams and Max Montgomery.

 

K.J. Bluford – 6’3” – FR - Minneapolis, Minnesota – Guard

College: Bluford was named First Team All-Conference and SecondTeam All-Nebraska by the Omaha World Herald after his freshman campaign. The sharp shooter hit 92 threes and averaged over 17 points a game for the Hawks. He scored a career-high 31 points against Morningside College and made eight three pointers against McCook Community College. His major is Business Administration.

Prep: KJ was a two time All-Conference selection for Robbinsdale Armstrong. He averaged almost 18 points a game, along with four rebounds and three assists. Bluford was rated as one of the top shooters in the state of Minnesota. K.J. was led by Coach Greg Miller while at Armstrong. Bluford’s traveling team was Minnesota Fury Blue coached by Ben Davis.

KJ is the son of Keith and Robin Bluford.

 

Jabbar Washington - 6’1” FR – Michigan City, Indiana – Guard

Prep: Washington helped guide Michigan City High School to a 12-11 record. He averaged 12.3 points per game last season. Jabbar was named First Team All-Area by the La Porte County Herald-Argus and named All-Area Honorable Mention by the Chicago Sun Times. His major is General Studies.

Jabbar is the son of Tonya Washington and Jabbar Wilson.

 

Corey Mitchell - 6’4” – FR – Staten Island, New York – Guard

Prep: Mitchell is a 2011 graduate of Curtis High School where he averaged just over ten points and grabbed six rebounds per game. After graduation, Mitchell attended Believe Prep where he scored over 15 points a game and helped Believe Prep to a 40-10 record this past season. His major is General Studies.

Corey is the son of Laticia Pagan.

 

Kyle Rutledge - 6’5” – SO – San Antonio, Texas – Guard

College: Kyle appeared in 20 games his freshman year making seven starts. He sat out the first ten games of the year with a hand injury. Rutledge had six double-digit scoring games as a freshman. He had a career high 14 points against Southeast Community College. Kyle will be making the transition from the post to the wing during his sophomore campaign. His major is Business Administration.

Prep: Kyle helped San Antonio Clark High School to a 22-9 record during his senior campaign. Rutledge averaged nearly 10 points and 3 blocks a game for Coach Steve Sylistien. While at Clark, Kyle was named Second Team All-District and a Lone Star All-Start Selection. Kyle was a multisport athlete, making the regional finals in high jump. Kyle was part of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Kyle’s traveling team was the D1 Ambassadors coached under Paul Joseph.

Kyle is the son of Shamin and Rodney Rutledge.

 

Kyle Kilgore - 6’7” – FR – Adrian, Minnesota – Forward

Prep: Kilgore led his team to a 10-14 record during his senior year. He also led his team in scoring, averaging over 26 points a game. He is also the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,498 career points. The two-sport standout also led his football team in receiving yards and touchdowns. His major is Business.

Klye is the son of Eric and Pam Kilgore.

 

Rasheed Fairley - 6’7” – FR – Dunn, North Carolina – Forward

Prep: Fairley played three years at Triton High School in Erwin, North Carolina, before he played for Boys Town High School in 2010-11. His senior year he averaged 11.7 points a game. Fairley helped lead Boys Town to a 20-6 record and a berth in the Class B Boys State Basketball Tournament. His major is Behavioral Science.

Rasheed is the son of Gloria Thomas and Benjamin Fairley.

 

Khapri Alston - 6’5” – FR – Chicago, Illinois – Forward

Prep: Alston led Thornwood High School to a Southwest Suburban Conference Red Championship last season. He also led his team in scoring, averaging just under 16 points a game. The two-year starter also led his team in rebounding, with nine rebounds a game. Alston was named First Team All-Area by the Northwest Indiana Times and was named Player of the Week in the first week of March by the Chicago Southtown Star, a Chicago Sun-Times publication. His major is General Studies.

Khapri is the son of Natalie Norman and Chenier Alston.

 

Cody Pinder - 6’6” – SO – Nassau, Bahamas – Forward

College: Cody sat out last season after suffering a leg injury. Cody was an All-Region and All-Region Tournament player for Northeast for the 2010-2011 season. Pinder had 16 double-digit scoring games last season. Cody scored a career high 23 points against North Platte Community College. Cody averaged just under six rebounds a game, grabbing double-digit rebounds in four games. He recorded a career high 12 rebounds against College of Bottineau. His major is Health PE and Recreation.

Prep: Cody averaged 18 points and seven rebounds a game for CI Gibson High School. While at CI Gibson, he was voted the Most Valuable Player amongst his peers. He was coached by Kevin Johnson at CI Gibson. Cody’s traveling team was the Providence Storm also coached by Kevin Johnson.

Cody is the son of Ernestine Arthur.

 

Oral Rahming - 6’7” – FR – Nassau, Bahamas – Forward

Prep: Rahming is a 2011 graduate of CI Gibson High School. He attended Southwest Florida Christian Prep this past season. His major is Health PE and Recreation.

Oral is the son of Renee and Oral Rahming.
