2013-14 Player Profiles

Lyle Hexom - 6’8” – FR - Omaha, Nebraska – Forward

Prep: Lyle helped lead his South High School team to a 23-3 record and a 3rd- place finish in the Nebraska Class A Boys State Basketball Tournament. He was selected 1st Team All-Metro by omahahoops.com and 3rd Team All-Metro by the Omaha World-Herald. As a senior, he averaged 12.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game and was named Honorable Mention All-State by the Omaha World-Herald.

 

Anthony Woods - 6’2” – FR – Kansas City, Missuori– Guard

Anthony was a varsity player all four years at Park Hill South. He was the Suburban Red Conference Player of the Year and was named to the Class 5 All-State Team by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association. He led his team to a 16-7 record and was selected to participate in the Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association (GKCBCA) All-Star game.

 

Chima Moneke - 6’6” – FR – Canberra, Australia– Guard

Prep: Chima played in back¬¬¬-to-back Australian high school championships. At 6’ 6”, he averaged a double-double each of the last two seasons. He scored 42 points in one game during his senior year and recorded a 20-rebound game. Chima was listed as one of the top up-and-coming Australian basketball players in the Class of 2013.

 

Jesse Brown- 6’6” – FR – Madison, South Dakota– Forward

Prep: Jesse led Madison High School to a South Dakota State Championship and a 23-2 record his final year. At 6’ 6”, he averaged just over 11 points and seven rebounds per game. Brown was named to the All-Big Eight Conference Team and represented South Dakota in the Wyoming-South Dakota All-Star Series.

 

Dionte Smith- 6’4” – FR – Nassau, Bahamas– Guard

Prep: A three-year varsity team member, Dionte helped lead CC Sweeting High School to back-to-back Hugh Campbell Invitational Championships. At 6’4”, he was named tournament MVP of the 2013 Hugh Campbell Invitational. Dionte averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds during his senior campaign.

 

Jabbar Washington – 6’1” – SO - Michigan City, Indiana – Guard

College: Jabbar appeared in 28 games as a freshman at Northeast and started eight games. He scored in double-digits nine times and had a career high of 13 points against Hastings JV. He recorded 74 assists and 24 steals while averaging 2.6 rebounds a game.

Prep: Jabbar helped guide Michigan City High School to a 12-11 record. He averaged 12.3 points per game his last season. Jabbar was named 1st Team All-Area by the La Porte County Herald-Argus and named All-Area Honorable Mention by the Chicago Sun- Times.

 

Buay Tuach - 6’4” - FR – Omaha, Nebraska– Guard

Prep: Washington helped guide Michigan City High School to a 12-11 record. He averaged 12.3 points per game last season. Jabbar was named First Team All-Area by the La Porte County Herald-Argus and named All-Area Honorable Mention by the Chicago Sun Times. His major is General Studies.

 

Oral Rahming - 6’7” – SO – Nassau, Bahamas – Forward

College: Oral appeared in 15 games as a freshman at Northeast. He averaged two points a game. Oral had a career-high 10 points against Indian Hills Community College. He shot 53 percent from the field during the 2012-2013 campaign.

Prep: Oral was a 2011 graduate of CI Gibson High School. He also attended Southwest Florida Christian Prep.

 

Khapri Alston - 6’5” – SO – Chicago, Illinois– Forward

College: Khapri was tabbed as Honorable Mention All-Region as a freshman at Northeast where he started 27 games. He averaged 13.2 points a game while grabbing 7.9 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 26 points against Dakota College of Bottineau. Khapri had a team-high 59 blocks and recorded 36 steals.

Prep: Khapri led Thornwood High School to a Southwest Suburban Conference Red Championship. He also led his team in scoring, averaging just under 16 points a game. The two-year starter also led his team in rebounding, with nine rebounds a game. He was named 1st Team All-Area by the Northwest Indiana Times and was named Player of the Week in the first week of March by the Chicago Southtown Star, a Chicago Sun-Times publication.

 

Sheed Fairley - 6’7” – SO – Dunn, North Carolina – Forward

College: Sheed played in 28 games and started the final 10 at Northeast last year. He averaged 4.6 points and 4.2 rebounds a game. He scored a career-high 15 points against Iowa Western Community College. Sheed recorded two double-doubles last season while swatting 33 shots.

Prep: Sheed played three years at Triton High School in Erwin, North Carolina, before playing for Boys Town High School in 2010-11. His senior year, he averaged 11.7 points a game. He helped lead Boys Town to a 20-6 record and a berth in the Class B Boys State Basketball Tournament.

 

Demarcus Cunningham - 6’6” – FR – Atlanta, Georgia – Forward

Prep: Demarcus was named to the Class AAA 2nd Team, All-State by the Georgia Sportswriters Association. At 6’6”, he averaged 13.7 points per game and was a 1st Team All-Region selection for Douglas High School. He also qualified for the Georgia State Track meet.
