Head Coach Dan Anderson
Dan Anderson is beginning his 15th season as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Northeast Community College. The Canton, South Dakota native has compiled a 229-202 career record. During his tenure with the Hawks he has been named the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference four times. In 2000-2001, Anderson was named the Region IX Coach of the Year.
After graduating high school from Rock Valley Public Schools, Anderson went on to receive his Associative of Arts Degree at Iowa Lakes Community College. He proceeded to obtain his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Education from Augustana College.
Anderson began his coaching career in 1976 at Canton High School in Canton, South Dakota. He served as the Varsity Assistant Coach for 11 years. After Canton High School, Anderson became the Graduate Assistant at Augustana College for the 1986-87 season; Augustana compiled a 19-9 record that year. Anderson received his Masters in Exercise Science through the University of South Dakota while being the Graduate Assistant.
One year after taking the Graduate Assistant job at Augustana College, Anderson was named the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Iowa Western Community College. He spent eight seasons as the Head Coach and compiled a 112-137 record. After his stint at Iowa Western Community College, Anderson returned to his Alma Matter, Augustana College, as Assistant Coach. During the four seasons as Assistant, he helped Augustana College to a 37-44 record.
Coach Anderson will have tallied over 37 years of coaching experience after this season. He has been associated with 397 career wins. Over his tenure, Anderson has been involved with recruiting, financial aid, advising, basketball operations, player development, and camps.
Dan and his wife, Kris, are the parents to three children: Meagan, Molly, and Mickey, and the grandparents of two: Aiden and Elyn. Meagan is married to Caleb Priebe and they have a daughter Elyn. Molly is married to Efrain Plasencia and they have a son Aiden.

Assistant Coach Adam Blaylock

Adam Blaylock, a 2005 graduate of Norfolk High School where he was a three-year, three sport athlete, begins his second full season as assistant after joining the staff in January 2011. A Norfolk Daily News High School Athlete of the Year, Blaylock played for Northeast Community College for two years where he was a two-time Academic All-Conference athlete. He earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Northeast in 2007. He then lettered in indoor and outdoor track and field at Wayne State College where he was named a two-time Academic All-Conference performer by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Blaylock joined the Peru State College basketball program during his junior year and earned two letters. He had 17 double-digit scoring games while playing basketball for Peru. Following the 2009-2010 academic year, he was named a Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Blaylock assists Coach Anderson with recruiting, player development, strength and conditioning, and overall basketball operations. He is active in helping direct Northeast’s summer basketball camps. This past summer he also worked with Midwest Elite Basketball and was a coach for Jerry Mullins elite 100 camp. Blaylock is the son of John and Diana Blaylock.
