Reaffirmation of Accreditation
Northeast Community College recognizes the importance of a continual review of institutional effectiveness in fulfilling its mission to provide comprehensive, lifelong, learning-centered educational opportunities and services to meet the diverse needs of our public. The Higher Learning Commission’s self-study process represents an additional method of engaging in institutional review to complement other existing evaluative processes. The purposes of the self-study process for Northeast Community College include the following:
- Accountability – to provide evidence of institutional quality to constituents;
- Evaluation – to measure efforts to fulfill the mission;
- Improvement – to use the evaluation to make recommendations for improvement; and
- Advancement – to seek innovative solutions to advance the College’s efforts to meet the needs of learners and other constituents in the twenty-first century.
The self-study process was designed to allow Northeast Community College to evaluate opportunities for improvement and areas of excellence in fulfillment of its educational mission. The results of the review will provide direction for College administration, faculty, and staff in identifying future opportunities for achieving excellence in meeting institutional priorities.
