Fall Orientation will provide you with the information, tools and relationships you need to start your first year of college right. You’ll meet fellow students, staff and instructors, connect with area businesses and organizations, get information about our student support services, find your classrooms, attend a fun social event, and so much more.

Who should Attend?

All students enrolling for the first time at Northeast need to attend Fall Orientation. For more information or questions, call (800) 348-9033, ext. 7282 or email advising@northeast.edu. Fall Orientation is a student-only event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should my parents attend?

No. This is a student-only event. If your parents (spouse, friends, etc.) want to accompany you, we have other activities planned for them while you are busy at Fall Orientation getting to know your fellow students. If your parents (spouse, friends, etc.) want to know when they can re-connect with you after the event, let them know you’ll be available at 4:30.

There are two Orientations scheduled. Do I have to attend both?

You only need to attend one orientation session. The event scheduled for August 11, 2014 is for non-traditional aged students and military/veteran students.

Will I have time to do other college business while I’m on campus that day?

Yes. Financial Aid, Admissions, Registration and the College Store will be open on Sunday. You will have time before and after Fall Orientation to access these services. These offices will be open on Saturday as well.

I plan to take all of my classes online. Do I need to attend Fall Orientation?

No. If you are an online student, we will provide you with the same invaluable information via the Virtual New Student Registration. Please contact the Online Advisor, onlineadvisor@northeast.edu, or Admissions, admission@northeast.edu, if you have questions about this.

I plan to take my classes at the College Center, West Point Education Center or O’Neill Education Center. Do I need to attend Fall Orientation on the Norfolk campus?

No. We will provide you with the same invaluable information without coming to the Norfolk campus. Please contact your Education Center for specific information about this.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Remember to bring your College-Wide ID Number, your My Northeast PIN (password) and lots of energy and Hawk Pride. Comfortable shoes are recommended because we will be moving around the campus. We’ll provide everything else for the day.

Orientation for Non-Traditional and Military Students

If you are a non-traditional student or have served in the U.S. military, you are invited to attend an orientation session tailored just to your needs. You will receive more detailed information in the mail in July. Watch your mailbox!
